This month, Stranger Things 5 is slated to be a farewell and a fan celebration, with the finale episode debuting in movie theaters as a celebratory event. On Tuesday, Netflix shared a list of all participating screening locations, pointing to this site to reserve your seats: www.ST5Finale.com.
In October, the streamer announced that the final installment would be shown in select locations, spanning 350 theaters in the US and Canada, on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. And on Monday, the company rolled out a holiday-themed virtual Yule log for the show (along with KPop Demon Hunters and Wednesday).
Seared into the pop culture zeitgeist, the hit series takes its final lap on Netflix in three volumes, with the first currently available since Nov. 26, followed by volume 2 on Dec. 25 and the finale Dec. 31. Each part of this final season will be released on Netflix at 5 p.m. PT (8 p.m. ET), with the finale episode revealed to be two hours long.
Stranger Things 5 is set in fall 1987, and Hawkins, Indiana, is under a government lockdown. Eleven is lying low, Max is in a coma, but the gang is united in their mission to find Vecna and get rid of him once and for all. With the anniversary of Will Byers’ disappearance looming, there’s an extra eeriness in the air. This last season brings back the main crew and introduces new faces: Jake Connelly as Derek Turnbow, Alex Breaux as Lieutenant Akers and Linda Hamilton as Dr. Kay.
