Which subscriptions will cost more?

Whether you’re on a monthly or annual plan with Disney+ your bill for the service is going up.

Ad-supported and premium plans were also hit with the increases with no customer escaping the rising costs.

If you are an annual subscriber the increase will only kick in when your next billing cycle arrives.

All tiers of the streaming service’s subscriptions are going up with the premium monthly subscription hitting almost £15.

If you’re paying for a premium plan annually your bill is set to skyrocket to a whopping £149.90.

That’s a huge increase on the £59.99 that the annual premium plan cost when the platform launched in 2020.

Even the ad -supported tier of the service has been hit by the increase, rising from £4.99 to £5.99.

This marks the first increase of the “budget” option since the streaming service introduced it in 2023.

Other features will cost more

Even the cost of the Extra Members feature is being slapped with a price hike.

The feature allows subscribers to add someone outside their household to their account.

It will no cost £4.99 monthly for standard with ads, up from £3.99.

For standard and premium tiers the feature will now cost £5.99, up from £4.99.

No longer budget friendly

The increases mark a departure from the streaming service’s budget friendly roots.

When Disney+ launched in March 2020 it boasted competitive pricing – costing just £5.99 a month for everything in a single package.

The service managed to undercut most of its big rivals.

Previous increases

It lasted for less than a year before the first increases in pricing arrived in February 2021 with the monthly fee rising to £7.99.

It came when Star was introduced to the service’s catalogue, expanding it dramatically.

The tiered system was then introduced in November 2023 with the original all-in-one package being split.

The full price increases

Standard with Ads was £4.99 a month. This is increasing to £5.99 a month.

Standard (Monthly) was £8.99 a month. This is increasing to £9.99 a month.

Standard (Annual) was £89.90 a year. This is increasing to £99.99 a year.

Premium (Monthly) was £12.99 a month. This is increasing to £14.99 a month.

Premium (Annual) was £129.90 a year. This is increasing to £149.90 a year.
