It’s a new year, but the best streaming services are not slowing down with a slew of new movies worth adding to your watchlist. With so much on offer, though, narrowing down what to watch next this weekend can quickly become a headache.
To cut through the noise, I head to Netflix’s top 10 list of most-watched movies to see what’s got everyone buzzing. Unfortunately, just because a movie’s made the cut doesn’t guarantee much. There are plenty of over-hyped duds among the gems. That’s why I’m here every weekend to highlight the best of the bunch to help you skip the scrolling and get to streaming.
This week, that includes a heart-pounding heist thriller led by Jason Statham, a riveting true crime documentary, and a still-thriving K-pop phenomenon. None of these picks fit the vibe? Our guide to everything new on Netflix this month is packed with recommendations. Here are the three must-watch movies in Netflix’s top 10 this weekend. Enjoy!
Best movies in the Netflix top 10
‘Evil Influencer: The Jodi Hildebrandt Story’ (2025)
Watch On
Netflix had no shortage of popular true crime documentaries last year, and it’s kicking off 2026 with another hit No. 1 tell-all. In “Evil Influencer: The Jodi Hildebrandt Story,” director Skye Borgman (“Abducted in Plain Sight”) returns with another only-in-America story of depravity and scandal.
The documentary sheds light on Jodi Hildebrandt, a Utah therapist who was arrested in 2023 on child abuse charges alongside her former business partner and parenting YouTuber Ruby Franke. The pair’s YouTube channel promoted strict parenting advice and racked up over 2 million subscribers before it all came crashing down in 2023 after Franke’s 12-year-old son fled to a neighbor’s house to beg for food and water. Shocking revelations from the ensuing investigation found Hildebrandt convinced Franke that her children were possessed and needed to be punished, leading to horrific acts of abuse.

‘Wrath of Man’ (2021)
Watch On
Once you’ve seen one Jason Statham movie, you’ve seen ’em all, but that doesn’t make these heart-pounding rides any less fun. Guy Ritchie’s heist thriller “Wrath of Man” sees Statham hitting the streets as H/Patrick Hill, an enigmatic armored truck guard who’s secretly on a quest for vengeance.
His new supervisor, Bullet (Holt McCallany), takes a shine to him, though he barely passed the driving and shooting tests to get the job in the first place. But on his first day, a heist situation sends him into full action hero mode, leaving his co-workers with some serious questions about his past. This mysterious marksman’s real motive soon comes to light as he takes dramatic steps to settle a score.

‘K-Pop Demon Hunters’ (2025)
Watch On
2025 will undoubtedly be remembered as the year that “K-Pop Demon Hunters” exploded on the pop-cultural landscape. Netflix’s biggest streaming hit of all time is still holding strong in the top 10 into the new year, though it’s fallen from the #1 spot. Now it’s joined by the film that put Sony Pictures Animation on the map, “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” which should make for a fun double feature.
“K-Pop Demon Hunters” follows three K-pop stars, Rumi (Arden Cho), Mira (May Hong), and Zoey (Ji-young Yoo), who moonlight as demon hunters that protect the world from supernatural evils with their harmony. They’re forced to face off against a rival boy band, the Saja Boys, whose members are secretly demons, to save the world, but first they’ll have to tackle their own inner demons to stand a chance of saving the world.
