Snowed in this weekend? That chill means it’s the perfect weather for curling up on the couch and catching up on all the latest hits across the best streaming services. With so much to choose from, though, narrowing down what to watch next this weekend can quickly become a headache.

To cut through the noise quickly, each week I scan through Netflix’s top 10 list of most-watched movies to see what’s got everyone buzzing. Sure, not everything that makes the cut is a guaranteed hit, but you’re bound to find some gems among the overhyped duds. I’m here to highlight the best of the bunch so you can skip the scrolling and get to streaming.

This week, that includes a high-octane heist thriller, an offbeat sci-fi action movie the critics got wrong, and Netflix’s biggest hit of all time. None of these picks fit the vibe? Our guide to everything new on Netflix this month is packed with recommendations. Here are the three must-watch movies in Netflix’s top 10 this weekend. Enjoy!

‘The Rip’ (2026)

Over 41 million viewers watched Netflix’s latest heist thriller “The Rip” in its first week on the streamer, making it an early frontrunner for Netflix’s biggest movie of the year. While my girl M3GAN has unseated it from the No. 1 spot (more on that in a bit), it’s never too late to join the hype train. The latest collaboration between Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, “The Rip” centers on a group of Miami cops who stumble on a cache of millions during an otherwise routine bust on a derelict suburban house.

While they hurry to secure the scene and figure out their next steps, word of their windfall gets out, causing all sorts of new headaches. With the squad still reeling from their commander’s suspicious death weeks earlier, suspicions run rampant as they attempt to figure out who owns the money and who can be trusted. “The Rip” marks a high-octane return to form for Damon and Affleck, though I thought its twists were predictable even for this kind of action-packed popcorn fodder.

‘M3GAN 2.0’ (Netflix)

Watch On

I’ve been saying telling everyone who’ll listen to ignore “M3GAN 2.0’s” haters since it hit streaming last summer, so I’m feeling validated as hell that its Netflix’s latest No. 1 movie. While this critically panned sequel isn’t really a horror movie, anyone who enjoyed “M3GAN’s” campier parts among the scares are in for a treat. The sequel doubles down on the ridiculousness with more over-the-top deaths, biting humor that, like its titular android, remains deliciously self-aware, and an enemies-to-lovers subplot that works way better than it has any right to. It’s “Terminator 2” in drag, what’s not to love?

Two years after M3GAN (played by Amie Donald and voiced by Jenna Davis ), an android that Gemma (Allison Williams) built to be a companion for her niece Cady (Violet McGraw), went rogue, a new killer AI built using M3GAN’s design is on the prowl. To stop her, Gemma and Caddy have no choice but to team up with a resurrected M3GAN to keep this copy cat from unleashing untold AI horrors upon the world.

We’re almost a month into the new year, and “K-Pop Demon Hunters” isn’t done, done done topping the Netflix charts. Netflix’s biggest streaming hit of all time has fallen from the #1 spot, but it’s still holding strong alongside the film that put Sony Pictures Animation on the map, “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” which should make for a fun double feature.

“K-Pop Demon Hunters” follows three K-pop stars, Rumi (Arden Cho), Mira (May Hong), and Zoey (Ji-young Yoo), who shield the world from supernatural evils with their harmony and demon-butt-kicking prowess. Their biggest challenge yet comes when a rival boy band, the Saja Boys, whose members are secretly demons, come for their crown and the souls of their fans. But first they’ll have to tackle their own inner demons to stand a chance of saving the world.
