As Netflix is constantly bringing us new TV shows to keep up with, staying on top of all the latest and greatest Netflix series can be a real tall order — and that’s before you factor in the offerings on any of the other best streaming services on the market. If you’re struggling to pick your next Netflix watch, you’ll likely be tempted to turn to the Top 10 chart.
However, you can’t always guarantee that what’s popular on Netflix will be worthy of your viewing time… and that’s where I come in. Each week, I sift through Netflix’s top 10 list and narrow that list down to just three trending choices that I think are most worthy of a spot on your watchlist. You can find my Netflix choices, plus the full Netflix top 10 shows list, below. This article is based on what was in the Netflix U.S. top 10 as of Tuesday, October 21, 2025.
Best shows in the Netflix Top 10
‘Boots’
Watch On
“Boots” is a new Netflix comedy-drama that’s debuted to major praise from critics and audience members alike: it’s currently 90% on Rotten Tomatoes, at the time of writing.
The series puts a new spin on the coming-of-age story, and takes us back in time to the 1990s US Marine Corps, when being gay in the military was still illegal. Here, we meet directionless, closeted Cameron Cope (Miles Heizer) and his best friend Ray McAffey (Liam Oh), as they join a group of recruits. Together, they and the rest of the ensemble forge friendships and find themselves all while facing down an environment designed to push them to their absolute limits.

‘The Diplomat’

Watch On
Netflix’s binge-worthy political thriller is back for its third installment, and fans have clearly been eager to see what’s next for Kate Wyler (Keri Russell), as the show has rocketed straight to the No. 1 spot mere days after “The Diplomat” season 3 landed.
Season three finds Kate continuing her whirlwind political journey. With Grace Penn (Allison) now ensconced as leader of the free world, Kate steps into a new role that she never wanted, gains freedom she never expected, and navigates an increasingly complex relationship with Foreign Secretary Austin Dennison (David Gyasi) and an unnerving bond with First Gentleman, Todd Penn (Bradley Whitford).

‘Wayward’

Watch On
Mae Martin’s “Wayward” has had proven stopping power, as this twisting psychological thriller arrived on Netflix a little under a month ago, but it’s still one of the streamer’s top watches today.
The series transports us to Tall Pines, a town where nothing is truly what it seems, and one that holds some sinister secrets. Shortly after police officer Alex Dempsey (Martin) and his pregnant wife Laura (Gadon) move into their new home, Dempsey connects with two students fleeing the local school for “troubled teens”. As Dempsey continues his investigation, he begins to suspect that school leader Evelyn (Toni Collette) could well be the center of all the stranger goings-on…
