The Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs said on Wednesday it has suspended earlier intervention measures against Nexperia, handing control of the chipmaker back to its Chinese parent company Wingtech Technology. Nexperia is a Netherlands-based chipmaker that is wholly owned by China’s Wingtech Technology. The Dutch government had earlier taken over Nexperia on national security grounds, a move that triggered disruptions across the semiconductor supply chain. Beijing repeatedly raised objections in talks with Dutch authorities. The latest decision marks a shift in the Netherlands’ approach and is seen as a step toward easing tensions and supporting stability in the global chip supply chain.
