A Neuralink recipient has done something extraordinary. She has signed her name for the first time in 20 years, without using her hands. Instead, she did it using just her thoughts. This has been done by Neuralink’s chip, which allows the human brain to connect directly to computers.
The moment came to light when Audrey Crews, who has a Neuralink implant, posted a photo on X (formerly Twitter). Her post showed her signature displayed on a computer screen with the caption: “I tried writing my name for the first time in 20 years. I’m working on it. Lol #Neuralink.”
Soon after, Elon Musk reposted the update and added, “She is controlling her computer just by thinking. Most people don’t know this can happen.” Musk’s comment quickly gained traction online, gathering over 10 million views and opening up a broader conversation about brain-computer interfaces.

The internet was quick to respond with some commenting, “You wrote that with your mind?” to “This is the most exciting thing I’ve seen all year.” Many called it a glimpse into a future where people with disabilities can regain lost functions using just technology.
All About Neuralink’s Vision
While Audrey’s progress is the highlight now, Neuralink isn’t stopping there. The company is also working on a new brain chip called Blindsight, which aims to help blind individuals see again and maybe even enhance vision beyond the normal range. So far, this technology has only been tested on monkeys. But if all goes as planned, Neuralink hopes to roll out Blindsight by 2030 and cross $1 billion in annual revenue by 2031, a report by Bloomberg suggested.
Neuralink’s broader goal is to create communication between the brain and computers. Whether it’s helping paralysed individuals move again or letting people interact with devices using only their thoughts.
