Among the new features announced, the inauguration of 24/7 continuous recording for Ring’s connected cameras represents an important step forward. This function, available to subscribers to the Home Premium plan, will allow users to record images captured by their cameras without interruption, whether or not an alert is triggered by motion detection. This will be particularly useful to ensure that nothing goes unnoticed, even outside the previously defined detection zones.

Ring is also launching rich notifications for all subscription plans. These notifications will now include a video preview of the event that triggered an alert, allowing users to view a short video clip directly from their notification, without having to open the app. This type of notification is faster and more efficient, you can ignore a false movement and avoid immediately interacting through the audio system integrated into the application.
In addition to these improvements, Ring is offering a new feature called Extended Live Video. Previously, users could only view live video for a limited duration of 10 minutes. From now on, this duration increases to 30 minutes for Home Standard subscribers, and becomes unlimited for Home Premium subscribers. This provides more flexibility for users who want to monitor their home or business in real time for an extended period of time.
Another interesting addition: the possibility of receiving doorbell calls directly on your smartphone. Now, when someone rings the doorbell, users will receive a call similar to a video call, allowing them to respond immediately through the Ring app. This feature is included in Home Standard and Home Premium subscriptions.
The transition from “Ring Protect” to “Ring Home” is not trivial. According to the company, this name change better reflects the company’s vision, which seeks to offer more comprehensive home protection through an ecosystem of connected products. The manufacturer also plans to add additional services to its subscriptions, such as professional monitoring and virtual security guards. These services can be added from November.
In terms of pricing, Ring maintains the prices of old subscriptions. The Home Basic level remains at €3.99 per month, while Home Standard and Home Premium are offered at €9.99 and €19.99 per month respectively. As said, some of the new features will be available for each subscription level.
