More evidence of an Apple Vision Pro headset follow-up has seemingly surfaced, thanks to images of a battery connector matching previous color rumors.

On April 16, a leaker claimed that an upcoming headset in the Apple Vision range will be lighter than the existing Apple Vision Pro, through the strategic use of titanium. As part of the leaker’s claim, they added that the model would also be using graphite dark blue components, and could be named the Air instead of the Pro.

Within hours of that X post, leaker Kosutami has published pictures of a component that seemingly proves their point. The images, also shared on X, show what appears to be the connecting cable that goes between the external battery housing and the headset.

The cable is shown with a near-black woven cable sheathe, and similarly colored connectors on either end. At one end is the round connector that attaches to the headset itself, which still has a bare-metal inner connection ring and pins, but the outside is similarly dark, with a white indicator dot.

The other end has the enlarged Lightning-style connector that connects to the battery pack itself. Much like the original Apple Vision Pro, the connector is wider than Lightning

The pin count on the version shown in the images is also identical to Lightning with eight visible contacts on one side, though the pins are thicker. The original Apple Vision Pro battery includes 12 pins, as well as a small notch in the connector casing used to hold it within the battery enclosure.

While the images are encouraging, there’s no guarantee that they’re actually genuine Apple Vision components being used in a future hardware reelease.

The leaker, Kosutami, also has a mixed track record when it comes to rumors. The account had previously shared images of some pre-production HomePod hardware, but also offered completely inaccurate leaks about the Apple Watch.
