There will be no NHL All-Star game this season. In its place, the league is holding the 4 Nations Face-Off, a week-long international best-on-best tournament with players representing the USA, Canada, Sweden and Finland. Each team will play the other three teams in a round-robin format, and then the top two teams will meet in a one-game championship game.
Canada topped Sweden in overtime last night to open the tournament, with Mitch Marner netting the game winner on a feed from Sidney Crosby, his third assist of the night. Up next are the US and Finland tonight at 8 p.m. (5 p.m. PT) on ESPN and ESPN Plus.

4 Nations Face-Off TV schedule
The 4 Nations Face-Off tournament will take place in Boston and Montreal. The first four games of the tournament will be played at the Bell Centre in Montreal, and the final two round-robin games and championship decider will be played at the TD Garden in Boston.

- USA vs. Finland: 8 p.m. on ESPN and ESPN Plus
Saturday, Feb. 15
- Finland vs. Sweden: 1 p.m. on ABC and ESPN Plus
- USA vs. Canada: 8 p.m. on ABC and ESPN Plus
Monday, Feb. 17
- Canada vs. Finland: 1 p.m. on TNT and Max
- Sweden vs. USA: 8 p.m. on TNT and Max
Thursday, Feb. 20
- Championship game: 8 p.m. on ESPN and ESPN Plus
In Canada, games will be broadcast in English on Sportsnet (SN) and in French on TVA Sports (TVAS).
How to watch the 4 Nations Face-Off without cable
Four of the five major live TV streaming services include ABC, ESPN and TNT (all but Fubo) for all seven tournament games.
You could also use the ESPN Plus and Max streaming services to watch each of the seven games, with four games (including the championship) streaming on ESPN Plus and the other three streaming on Max.
Sling TV’s Sling Orange plan includes ESPN and TNT, and the Blue plan includes ABC (in only in a handful of markets) and TNT. You’ll want the Orange plan to watch every tournament game on ABC, ESPN and TNT.
The Blue or Orange plan costs $46 a month, and the combined Orange-and-Blue plan costs $61 a month.

Fubo’s Essential plan costs $85 a month and includes ABC and ESPN but not TNT. With Fubo, you’ll miss out on three of the six round-robin games on TNT but can watch the other games, including the championship, on ESPN.

You’ll be able to watch four of the seven tournament games on ESPN Plus. It will show the USA-Finland game on Thursday, Feb. 13, both games on Saturday, Feb. 15 and the championship game on Thursday, Feb. 20. These games are not exclusive, however, to ESPN Plus and will also be shown on ABC or ESPN.

Max will show only three of the seven tournament games. You’ll be able to stream three round-robin games on Max but will need ESPN or ESPN Plus for the championship and the other three round-robin games. It’s a good supplement if you have an ESPN Plus subscription and want to stream every game of the tournament. The three games on Max will also be shown on TNT.
