WE can’t keep up with Nintendo lately, as it feels like it’s been adding more free games to its lineup every day.
Last week, Donkey Kong Land was added to Nintendo Switch Online, followed by Donkey Kong Land 2 this week.
However, both of these games were added to the cheaper tier of the subscription service, but three games have now been added to the more expensive tier.
The Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack is twice the price of the bottom tier, but includes a number of extra perks.
Subscribers at the higher tier can grab 107 extra games from the N64, Sega Mega Drive, and Game Boy Advance libraries.
Not only that, but you can also play DLC for some of the most popular games on the Nintendo Switch, including Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Splatoon 3.
The three most recent additions to Nintendo Switch Online are all from the classic Sega Mega Drive (Genesis) library.
The first is Toejam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron, the follow-up to one of the most popular games on the console.
However, rather than being about exploration, Panic on Funkotron is a 2D platformer.
The original is already part of Nintendo Switch Online, but the next two games in the series were released on more modern platforms.
Next up is VectorMan, which pushed the Mega Drive’s graphical prowess with 3D graphics for the main character and enemies.
This is a 2D action platformer that was so popular two sequels were made.
The final game now available on Nintendo Switch Online is Wolf of the Battlefield: Mercs, the follow-up to the popular Commando series.
This is a run-and-gun game similar to other classics like Contra and Metal Slug.
If you want to play these games, you’ll need to be subscribed to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service.
Then you can download the Sega Mega Drive (Sega Genesis) app through the Nintendo eShop directly via your console.
Once you open the app you’ll be able to play whichever game you like.
Ninten-do
Nintendo doesn’t always add five free games in a week, but I guess they are feeling generous coming up to the holiday season.
Don’t expect this level of game additions every week, but Nintendo never removes games, so you’ll have plenty of time to play.
