NIO announced yesterday that its battery swap service has exceeded 90 million swaps, with an average of over 100,000 swaps per day. This brings the company closer to reaching 100 million battery swaps. The company said it took 1,506 days to reach the first 10 million swaps, while the jump from 80 million to 90 million took only 100 days. Currently, NIO has deployed 3,539 battery swap stations nationwide, including over 1,000 on highways, covering 550 cities across China. To date, the 90 million battery swaps have delivered 4.75 billion kWh of electricity. This is enough to power 2.37 million households for a year and saves users around 23.7 billion yuan ($3.33 billion) in fuel costs compared with conventional refueling. [NIO, in Chinese]
