Who will be the next Bond? Amazon now has full creative control over the film franchise, but I can’t imagine what will happen next. Could they stay the course and simply put a new actor in the suit and tie, or will they go full MCU and create the James Bond cinematic universe we’ve all feared is coming? Regardless of what comes next, I have to complain about what’s happening now: You can’t stream most of the movies.

James Bond has always been elusive when it comes to home media. When I was younger, I remember watching some of the films on TV when they had marathons around Thanksgiving, of all holidays. Outside of that? They were never on TV. Now, when the whole promise of streaming video was to make it easier to find what you want to watch, I think it’s odd how the company that owns both MGM+ and Prime Video has neglected to make these movies available to watch.

I have yet to watch all the films in the series, but it sounds like it would be fun to watch them all in order. The series has never really cared about continuity, and the multiple actors portraying Bond over the course of 60 years (and very different political landscapes) makes it all a bit less believable, but the movies are cool and fun to watch, so who cares? Here’s how to watch all the Bond movies in order, so you’re ready to go once Amazon gets around to sorting out any lingering rights issues.

Dr. No (1962)

In Dr. No, James Bond is dispatched to Jamaica where he must stop the titular villain from interfering with the American space program. Connery is joined by Ursula Andress in her breakout role as Honey Rider.

From Russia With Love (1963)

In From Russia With Love, James Bond is called in to help Tatiana Romanova—played by Daniela Bianchi—defect from the USSR. However, it’s all a plot dreamed up by SPECTRE to get revenge on Bond for stopping Dr. No.

Goldfinger (1964)

In Goldfinger, James Bond goes up against a gold-smuggling operation headed up by gold magnate Auric Goldfinger. Connery is joined by Honor Blackman as Pussy Galore and Shirley Eaton as Jill Masterson.

Thunderball (1965)

When SPECTRE steals atomic bombs from NATO, James Bond must head to the Bahamas and take on Emilio Largo in what becomes an epic battle under the sea. Connery is joined by Claudine Auger as Domino, Largo’s mistress-turned-ally of Bond.

You Only Live Twice (1967)

In You Only Live Twice, James Bond travels to Japan in order to deal with an international incident between the United States and USSR that culminates in a battle against Ernst Stavro Blofeld, the leader of SPECTRE. Connery stars alongside Akiko Wakabayashi as SIS agent Aki and Mie Hama as Kissy Suzuki.

Casino Royale (1967)

Eon Productions now holds the adaptation rights to all of Ian Fleming’s work, but this wasn’t initially the case with Casino Royale. In 1967, they put together an outlandish spy parody with an ensemble cast, including David Niven as James Bond.

On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969)

Following Sean Connery’s initial retirement from the role, Australian model George Lazenby was cast as the new James Bond. Here, Bond must juggle stopping Blofield from endangering the world with a virus and a romance with Tracy de Vicenzo (Diana Rigg).

Diamonds Are Forever (1971)

Connery came out of “retirement” for Diamonds Are Forever, which depicts Bond infiltrating a diamond-smuggling ring and uncovering a dangerous plot by Ernst Stavro Blofeld. Bond is assisted by diamond smuggler Tiffany Case, played by Jill St. John.

Live and Let Die (1973)

Live and Let Die stars Roger Moore as James Bond, along with Jane Seymore as Solitaire. The film takes its cues from the blaxploitation productions of the era by focusing on a Caribbean dictator who plans to build a worldwide drug monopoly.

The Man With the Golden Gun (1974)

James Bond is targeted by skilled assassin Francisco Scaramanga while attempting to retrieve an experimental energy source in The Man With the Golden Gun. Moore is joined by Britt Ekland as Mary Goodnight and Christopher Lee in the role of the titular villain.

The Spy Who Loved Me (1977)

In The Spy Who Loved Me, James Bond must stop megalomaniac Karl Stromberg from destroying the world and creating a new undersea civilization in its place. Moore teams up with Barbara Bach’s Anya Amasova, a KGB agent, to take on Stromberg and his infamous henchman Jaws.

Moonraker (1979)

James Bond heads to space in Moonraker in order to stop industrialist Hugo Drax from wiping out humanity and repopulating the planet with a master race. The film features Lois Chiles as astronaut Holly Goodhead and Richard Kiel as Jaws.

Never Say Never Again (1983)

Sean Connery returned to the role of James Bond for a second time in 1983’s Never Say Never Again, which was an unofficial remake of Thunderball.

A View to a Kill (1985)

The Living Daylights (1987)

The first film starring Timothy Dalton as James Bond, The Living Daylights centers around a renegade Russian general attempting to manipulate MI6 into eliminating his Soviet rival. Dalton is joined by Maryam d’Abo as Kara Milovy, and John Rhys-Davies as General Pushkin.

License To Kill (1989)

Following a drug lord’s attack on CIA agent Felix Leiter and his wife, Bond goes on a personal quest for revenge that gets him suspended from MI6. The film is Dalton’s second and last turn as Bond and features Carey Lowell as Pam Bouvier and Robert Davi as Franz Sanchez.

SkyFall (2012)

In Skyfall, Bond must come out of retirement to stop a former MI6 agent Raoul Silva (Javier Bardem) from exacting his revenge against M and destroying the organization. The film reintroduces Moneypenny (Naomie Harris) and Q (Ben Whishaw) to the series.

Spectre (2015)

Ernst Stavro Blofeld, played by Christoph Waltz, returns to the franchise and James Bond must stop him from creating a surveillance network that could rival MI6.
