TeamFeePay, a sports tech company based in Belfast, has secured a £9m investment in support of its football club management software offering.

Founded in 2021, TeamFeePay has developed a software platform to help grassroots football clubs plan matches, training, events and track key metrics such as attendance.

The company was co-launched by Liam McStravick, who has long been involved in the grassroots football scene, having himself been involved in the coaching of clubs including Cliftonville, Linfield and Ballyclare.

This experience helped him realise the amount of time wasted on administration that could be spent on actual coaching.

“It is fantastic to have new investors coming on board to help us on our mission to transform the business end of grassroots football across the UK, Ireland and across Europe by offering a better way to reduce administration and increase club income,” McStravick said.

“Over the next two years we will be putting more boots on the ground, investing in new technology and continuing to improve the service and club development support our expert team provides.”

TeamFeePay has been backed by YFM Equity Partners as well as the Investment Fund for Northern Ireland and Techstart.

“We are excited to make this growth investment into TeamFeePay, to help an innovative company scale and move into new markets while enhancing the service it offers to existing customers,” said YFM partner Mike Clarke.

“This investment is further evidence of YFM’s commitment to supporting ambitious businesses in Northern Ireland.”
