NVIDIA It has become one of Intel’s main investors with a movement similar to that they have recently made SoftBank and the United States government. Thus, the company has invested 5,000 million dollars in Intel shares with the objective of work together With the company in the development of several generations of chips in the futuredestined to its integration into PCs and data centers.

The inverted amount implies that Nvidia will pay $ 23.38 for each Intel title that bought, below the Price they had at the close of Wednesday’s market: $ 24.90. However, it is a higher price than the United States government for action only a few weeks ago to keep almost 10% of its shares: $ 20.47 for each. At the close of the market last Wednesday, Intel’s total price value was 116,000 million dollars.

According to Nvidia, Intel will take care of the manufacture of socs X86 for integration into its GPU RTX chiplets. These, with the Intel components incorporated, will be installed in a wide range of PCs, in a step that brings the integration of Intel CPUS with NVIDIA GPUS.

The two companies already collaborate closely in the interetgration of systems for gaming laptops, but with this movement, which mounts in a single INTEL processors in NVIDIA GPUS, it is progressing significantly in its integration.

It is a fairly beneficial agreement for both parties, since on the one hand NVIDIA achieves more facilities and priority in the manufacture of its systems, in addition to having more power to compete with AMD. Intel also gets the latter, with a strong support to recover the field that AMD has been winning in recent times, both in CPUS for desktop equipment, especially in gaming, and in chips prepared for ia that are destined for portable equipment.

He also gets a respectable economic amount at a time when he needs to have financial muscle to undertake its reforms and return to the growth path. But this agreement also raises doubts about what Intel is for the future. Especially in regards to its division of ARC graphics cards, since it seems that from now on it will rely more on the experience that Nvidia has with its GPUS, which enjoy great acceptance in virtually all markets.

This Nvidia entry in Intel’s shareholders also arrives at a key moment for the rest of its negotiations. Apparently, Intel has been working with Mediatek for a while to develop an accelerated process unit (APU), which combines a CPU based on ARM with Nvidia’s Blackwell architecture.

In addition, there are rumors that NVIDIA has been working on chips for laptops based on ARM for years, and there are even indications that the company could launch before the end of the year a gaming laptop along with alienware with chips based on ARM.

On the other hand, Nvidia and Intel are going to work together in the connection of their architectures through the NVLink communications system in Nvidia. This is usually used in data centers to connect GPUS. And from the company they assure that Intel will manufacture CPUS X86 to measure for them that are integrated into their AI infrastructure platforms, which will later put up for sale.

It seems that Intel’s shareholders liked the news of Nvidia’s investment, since the value of the company’s shares already rose 28% in the previous stock market just after the news of the investment was known. Meanwhile, those of Nvidia also improved their contract value in almost 3%.

The CEO of Nvidia, Jensen Huanghe stood out of his investment that «This collaboration solidly joins the AI and the accelerated computing battery of Nvidia with Intel and its wide X86 ecosystem and its CPUS. It is a fusion of two top -level platforms. Together, we will expand our ecosystems and lay the foundations for the next era of computing«.

By Inatel, when the CEO of Lip-Bu Tan He commented that «Intel’s architecture X86 has been fundamental for modern computer science for decades, and we are innovating throughout our portfolio to make possible workloads of the future. Intel’s leading platforms for client data and computer centers, combined with our advanced packaging process, manufacturing technology, will complement NVIDIA leadership in artificial intelligence and accelerated computing to allow new advances in the sector. We appreciate the confidence that Jensen and the Nvidia team have deposited in us with their investment and we expect with interest the work that awaits us while we innovate for customers and make our business grow«.
