TAIPEI—He’s one of the world’s richest men, running one of its most valuable companies. A darling, in recent years, of Wall Street. Among the most watched business leaders of the young 21st century, at the center of steering a wide portfolio of world-remaking technologies.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is a rocket and a rock star nowadays. He is a phenomenal presenter, admired for his earnestness and enthusiasm, as well as for his ability to explain massively complex technologies in accessible terms. By that stroke, you might even call him the ultimate influencer.

And by today’s rules of grabbing and monetizing attention, the only logical next step for an influencer? Buy my merch!

Meet the Nvidia Merch Truck

We attended and reported on the Nvidia Computex 2025 keynote earlier today. Parked outside the Taipei Music Center was an on-brand green trailer with an open side. There was also one stupendous line leading from it…

We weren’t sure what to make of it, so we followed the line to the source…

Now, plenty of tech companies have company stores showing off their corporate logos on T’s, hoodies, jackets, and the like. But Jensen Huang has become such the rock star of the tech world, and so inseparable from the white-hot Team Green brand, that he’s simply the face of Nvidia. And whether you’re a CUDA developer, a GeForce loyalist, or an Nvidia stockholder, who wouldn’t want him peeking out of a breast pocket, Kilroy-style?

Mind You, It’ll Cost You

Rock-star status in the world, however, translates to concert T-shirt pricing. No subsidies here!

Nvidia employees were walking up and down the line, showing off merch summary menu cards so buyers could get an idea of what’s for sale and to be ready when they approach the trailer….

There was the Jensen/Kilroy design, priced up around $26.50 for adult sizes.

A range of other items included a bunch of conventional Nvidia shirts but also another Jensen-inspired special….

That “special” is the collared “TJ Woven Shirt,” pictured above. It looked niftiest to us, riddled with little Jensen-heads in all directions. The $1,100 price is in New Taiwan Dollars, or NTD; that worked out at today’s exchange rate to about $36.50. (A youth version was closer to $30.)

Get Huanged

Do you need one? Probably not. Do you want one? If you’re a GeForce loyalist, you bet. Paired today with Nvidia’s announcement of a new Taiwan headquarters building, called Nvidia Constellation, in the city’s Beitou district, a lot of local attendees were likely feeling the love and forking over the dollars. After all, Huang noted that his company’s success is really a joint success of Nvidia’s Taiwan ecosystem partners engaged in areas as broad as cooling, system design, data center infrastructure, and much more. A more robust facility, bringing together some of Nvidia’s smartest minds, will make the company more nimble, Huang noted.

Now, Nvidia’s doing fine just as it is, but AI is a whip-fast field that can be upended at any time. As for Huang, hey! There’s always this fashion sideline to turn to, if this whole “AI thing” ends up just being a fad and goes south.

About John Burek

Executive Editor and PC Labs Director

John Burek

I have been a technology journalist for 30-plus years and have covered just about every kind of computer gear—from the 386SX to 64-core processors—in my long tenure as an editor, a writer, and an advice columnist. For almost a quarter-century, I worked on the seminal, gigantic Computer Shopper magazine (and later, its digital counterpart), aka the phone book for PC buyers, and the nemesis of every postal delivery person. I was Computer Shopper’s editor in chief for its final nine years, after which much of its digital content was folded into PCMag.com. I also served, briefly, as the editor in chief of the well-known hard-core tech site Tom’s Hardware.

During that time, I’ve built and torn down enough desktop PCs to equip a city block’s worth of internet cafes. Under race conditions, I’ve built PCs from bare-board to bootup in under 5 minutes.

In my early career, I worked as an editor of scholarly science books, and as an editor of “Dummies”-style computer guidebooks for Brady Books (now, BradyGames). I’m a lifetime New Yorker, a graduate of New York University’s journalism program, and a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
