NVIDIA has been in the news several times this year for its role in the world of artificial intelligence (AI). The company led by Jensen Huang has become the true winner of this industry with its specialized solutions such as the DGX B200 systems that OpenAI has just released, but it continues to lead with an iron fist in the consumer market. This, precisely, is where we expect a very important update.
Wccftech says NVIDIA will unveil a trio of products during the keynote at CES 2025, an event taking place in Las Vegas from January 6 next year. Sources from the American media point out that these are the GeForce RTX 5090, RTX 5080 and RTX 5070, that is, the family of next-generation graphics cards that is presented as the company’s most ambitious and powerful. Certainly, there is a lot of expectation.
GeForce RTX 50, the most powerful family
The rumors of the announcement have come accompanied by the supposed specifications of these products. In the case of the GeForce RTX 5090, 32 GB of GDDR7 memory, speeds of up to 28 Gbps and 21,760 CUDA cores. It will also arrive with a larger L3 cache. At the power consumption level, the TBP (Total Board Power) will reach 600 W. It should be noted that this is not synonymous with the actual consumption of the device but rather a generous metric.
If we focus on the GeForce RTX 5080, the data suggests that it will land with 16 GB of GDDR7 memory. In this case, the transfer speed will be higher than its older sister, reaching 32 Gbps. It will have 10,752 400 W CUDA and TBP cores. As for the GeForce RTX 5070, the memory will be 12 GB GDDR7 whose speed will reach 28 Gbps. At the energy level, the TBP will be 250 W. There is no data on the CUDA cores.
All three models will work with a single 12VHPWR connector and will be powered by the Blackwell architecture that we have seen in professional solutions from the company. If everything turns out as the sources claim, within just under three months We will witness an important leap in the GeForce RTX series. At CES 2024, remember, the GeForce RTX 40 SUPER appeared, refined versions of the GeForce RTX 40 announced in 2020.
