Google has revealed that it is pausing the preview of the Pixel 10’s Daily Hub feature, with the company stating that the feature isn’t quite ready yet.

The decision was revealed in a statement made to 9to5 Google, where a Google spokesperson said, “To ensure the best possible experience on Pixel, we’re temporarily pausing the public preview of Daily Hub for users. Our teams are actively working to enhance its performance and refine the personalized experience. We look forward to reintroducing an improved Daily Hub when it’s ready.”

Daily Hub was first introduced alongside the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and currently unreleased Pixel 10 Pro Fold, effectively serving as Google’s version of Samsung’s popular Now Brief feature, introduced on the Galaxy S25 series. The idea was to have a location on the phone where users could quickly find certain relevant information, like the weather, upcoming calendar events and even content recommendations.

However, while the hub took inspiration from Now Brief, it lacked some of the design elements that allow the Samsung feature to work so well.

What were some of the issues with Daily Hub?

The biggest issue for many was that finding the Daily Hub was more of a challenge than it really needed to be. On Samsung phones, the Now Brief has an app icon as well as lock screen pop-ups, meaning it’s easy to access and the user is constantly aware of it. Meanwhile, the Daily Hub either sits at the top of a user’s Google Discover Feed or is hidden away in the At a Glance widget, where it’s less obvious to find.

On top of that, the Daily Hub was lacking in terms of what it would actually show. For instance, the weather report is shown as a tiny in-text widget rather than as a proper detailed report, while calendar events and reminders only appear as their titles without any further detail. With that being said, the content recommendations were actually quite novel and would be an area that I would want to see the feature grow.

In truth, Google deciding to pull the feature for the time being is probably the right move. While there was promise with the Daily Hub, it lacked the polish that we would expect from a feature on some of the best phones.

Thankfully, Google’s statement indicates the company’s focus on performance and personalized experiences, which is certainly the right direction. If it can get that part right, then the rest — like better integration with apps — should be the next step.

With that being said, we don’t have a timeline for when the updated version will be with us and there is a constant risk that Google will wait too long. For now, we will have to wait and see what the future holds for the Daily Hub.
