OnePlus 15 vs Oppo Find X9 Pro: Flagships compared
SHARE

As the OnePlus 15 is now finally available outside of China, we’re keen to see how it measures up to the Oppo Find X9 Pro.

Although the two Androids look remarkably similar to one another, there are a lot of differences between them. So, how does the 4.5-star OnePlus 15 really compare to the 4.5-star Oppo Find X9 Pro?

We’ve compared the specs and our experiences with the phones below, so you can see which flagship will suit you best. Otherwise, make sure you visit our list of the best Android phones to see what else is available

Price and Availability

Just under a month after its China-only launch, the OnePlus 15 is now readily available to purchase globally. It’s surprisingly affordable too, and actually has a cheaper starting RRP than its predecessor the OnePlus 13, at £849/$899.99.

In comparison, the Oppo Find X9 Pro is more of an expensive option with a starting price of £1099. Unlike the OnePlus 15, the handset is not currently available in the US.

Design

  • Both have a flat-edged and rounded-corner design that looks familiar to other flagship phones
  • OnePlus 15 is available in more finishes
  • Both have their own answer to Apple’s Action button, while the Oppo Find X9 Pro has a Camera Control dupe too

Let’s get the obvious out of the way: the OnePlus 15 and Oppo Find X9 Pro look remarkably similar. In fact, we’d go as far as to say that they’re near-identical copies, which is perhaps unsurprising considering Oppo is the parent company of OnePlus.

What’s somewhat disappointing is that both the OnePlus 15 and Oppo Find X9 Pro have departed from their usual designs and instead sport the same combination of flat edges and rounded corners as most of the best smartphones of 2025. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, as both phones feel nice in-hand, it’s just a shame that they don’t visually stand out from the crowd anymore.

Another similarity comes with their on-device buttons. Both phones are fitted with their answer to Apple’s Action button. Coined as the Plus Key for the OnePlus 15 or Snap Key for the Find X9 Pro, the button essentially works as a useful shortcut to certain apps.

In addition, the Find X9 Pro is fitted with the Quick Button which is a Camera Control dupe that was also found in the X8 Pro. Annoyingly, Oppo hasn’t improved the experience from its predecessor, and the button still sits slightly too far away for your finger to reach it comfortably.

Finally, the OnePlus 15 has a more exciting range of colours compared to the Find X9 Pro. The latter is fitted with just two options, Silk White and Titanium Charcoal, which feels like a safe albeit slightly boring selection. In comparison, the OnePlus 15 comes in three sleek styles. Alongside Lilac and Infinite Black, there’s a new Sandstorm finish, which uses Micro Arc Oxidation process that’s promised to be 3.4x tougher than aluminum and 1.3x tougher than titanium.

Winner: OnePlus 15

Screen

  • OnePlus 15 is fitted with a 1.5K resolution screen
  • While Oppo Find X9 Pro has a 120Hz refresh rate, the OnePlus 15 boasts a 165Hz
  • Both have ultra-slim 1.15mm bezels and are AMOLED panels

The displays of both the OnePlus 15 and Oppo Find X9 Pro are seriously hard to fault, although there are a few key differences between them which could factor in your decision making.

While both have seriously thin 1.15mm bezels and AMOLED panels, the OnePlus 15 is paired with a stunning 1.5K resolution and a slick 165Hz refresh rate. You may think a 165Hz refresh rate is unnecessary, especially as most games cap out at 120Hz anyway, however, OnePlus actually worked with some mobile game developers to ensure you’ll actually notice the difference.

In comparison, the Oppo Find X9 Pro has a 1.2K resolution that’s paired with a standard 120Hz refresh rate.

Camera

  • OnePlus no longer partners with Hasselblad but Oppo still does
  • OnePlus 15 has a trio of 50MP rear lenses
  • Oppo Find X9 Pro has a 200MP telephoto lens which has its own dedicated lens accessory (sold separately)

If photography is the most important aspect of a smartphone, then the Oppo Find X9 Pro will likely be a more appealing option. Oppo’s Find series has always been camera-focused and the X9 Pro is no exception, and we found it delivers some of the best and most consistent shots of any 2025 flagship.

The 50MP main lens is promised to capture up to 30% more light than the previous-gen alternative. Yes, that’s difficult to prove, however we still concluded that the sensor provides “impressive low-light performance” and offers decent levels of detail in most scenarios too.

The standout lens, however, is the 200MP telephoto lens that can technically reach up to 120x, surpassing the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Of course, reaching such high zoom levels does come at the expense of detail, but that’s where Oppo’s Hasselblad Teleconverter lens comes in.

Sold separately, the Teleconverter twists onto the telephoto lens and enables impressive zoom without compromising on quality. While it’s certainly not the most subtle of accessories, we were still impressed by the results.

Unlike Oppo, OnePlus no longer partners with Hasselblad for image processing, and instead relies on its own DetailMax algorithm for the OnePlus 15. While we did conclude its photography ability isn’t quite as impressive as the Oppo Find X9 Pro, we still concluded that the results are “pretty spectacular”.

The OnePlus 15’s main 50MP lens boasts a 1/1.56-inch sensor, which is the same as the iPhone 17 Pro, while its periscope telephoto offers a 1/2.75-inch sensor too. Essentially, if you’re looking for an all-rounder then the OnePlus 15 is perfectly sufficient. However, for a more camera-focused handset, the Oppo Find X9 Pro is your best bet.

Winner: Oppo Find X9 Pro

Performance

  • Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 vs Dimensity 9500
  • Although the OnePlus 15 does have the upper hand with performance, the gap is smaller than previous years
  • Gamers will likely prefer the OnePlus 15 over the Oppo Find X9 Pro

One of the biggest differences between the phones is that the OnePlus 15 runs on Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 while the Oppo Find X9 Pro is powered by Dimensity 9500. While our benchmarking tests saw the OnePlus 15 receive solid CPU and GPU scores, the Find X9 Pro wasn’t too far behind. In fact, we saw the Find X9 Pro scored higher than OnePlus in our Solar Bay ray-tracing benchmark.

Even so, in real-world use both phones perform incredibly fast whether you’re scrolling between apps or gaming. However, on the latter point, the OnePlus 15 undoubtedly boasts the edge.

As we touched upon earlier, OnePlus worked with game developers to enable its 165Hz refresh rate, which means you can play popular games such as Clash of Clans, Brawl Stars, Call of Duty Mobile and more the way OnePlus designed it. We also noticed that you could play games at such high performance settings, without the phone becoming too hot either.

Having said that, gaming on the Find X9 Pro is still decent especially considering it’s not one of the best gaming phones. It just doesn’t boast the premium features found in the OnePlus 15.

Winner: OnePlus 15

Software

  • OnePlus’ OxygenOS and Oppo’s ColorOS are among our favourite Android skins
  • Both are equipped with AI tools
  • Oppo Find X9 Pro can be paired to an Apple Watch – albeit with some caveats

Before we compare the two, it’s worth noting that both OxygenOS and ColorOS are two of our favourite Android skins, mainly as both are highly customisable. We especially appreciate that the OnePlus 15 can be especially fine-tuned to best suit your personal preferences.

Otherwise, both are fitted with plenty of AI tools which although shouldn’t necessarily be the main reason you buy either phone, is always a nice addition to play around with.

Oppo’s ColorOS 16 actually allows you to pair the Find X9 Pro with an Apple Watch, which is a first of its kind. However, you will need an iPhone for both set-up and management, so we wouldn’t recommend buying an Apple Watch alongside the Find X9 Pro.

Winner: Tie

Battery

  • Find X9 Pro has a 7500mAh cell while the OnePlus 15’s is 7300mAh
  • Despite the mighty capacities, neither are quite two-day phones
  • OnePlus 15 supports 120W SuperVOOC speeds and 50W AirVOOC wireless

Considering some of the best smartphones are fitted with measly-sounding 5000mAh batteries, the fact that both the OnePlus 15 and Find X9 Pro’s cells are over 7000mAh is pretty impressive.

While the OnePlus 15 is just 200mAh off the Find X9 Pro, at 7300mAh, both unsurprisingly offer a fantastic battery life. Even so, it’s worth noting that unless you’re a particularly light phone user, neither will comfortably offer you with two-days of life.

Finally, although both support 50W AirVOOC wireless speeds, the OnePlus 15 benefits from 120W SuperVOOC while the Find X9 Pro supports slightly less at 80W. Annoyingly, neither come equipped with a compatible wireless charger, although the OnePlus 15 does come with a charger.

Winner: OnePlus 15

Verdict

Both the OnePlus 15 and Oppo Find X9 Pro are undoubtedly exciting handsets that have a chance at making it into our best Android phones list, thanks to their respective processors, solid camera set-ups and mammoth batteries.

However, the OnePlus 15 benefits from being slightly cheaper than the Find X9 Pro while still offering brilliant, flagship features. With that in mind, if you’re looking for a more affordable flagship then the OnePlus 15 is an easy recommendation.

On the other hand, if photography is the most important part of a smartphone for you, then the Find X9 Pro is undoubtedly worth the splurge. Sure, the OnePlus 15 is a solid all-rounder, but the Find X9 Pro takes the edge.
