On Wednesday, Chinese phone brand OnePlus and Chinese chipmaker MediaTek jointly established a new gaming lab and unveiled the Dimensity 9400e, the latest chip in the Dimensity 9400 flagship family and one designed specifically for gaming. The Dimensity 9400e is built using TSMC’s 4nm process and features an all-big-core CPU architecture. It includes one ultra-large Cortex-X4 core clocked at 3.4GHz, three Cortex-X4 cores at 2.85GHz, and four Cortex-A720 performance cores running at 2.0GHz. The gaming chip aims to deliver 1% low frame rate performance, which refers to minimizing lag or stutter during the most demanding moments in gameplay, according to MediaTek. OnePlus announced that it will launch the Ace 5 Ultimate Edition smartphone next week, marking the global debut of the Dimensity 9400e chipset. [Icsmart, in Chinese]
