OpenText has reached two agreements with AWS and Google Cloud to offer their solutions in the clouds that both hyperscalar companies have in Europe as part of its digital sovereignty offer. In the latter case, the company has signed a collaboration with S3NSa collaboration between French cybersecurity company Thales, to offer European organizations a trusted cloud platform based on Google Cloud, to ensure data residency in the region, as well as compliance with existing regulations and operational controls.
The collaboration therefore offers a trusted hybrid cloud architecture for Europe from France, allowing companies to maintain their workloads with more sensitive data in the region, in addition to taking advantage of hyperscalar cloud services for them.
OpenText and S3NS trusted cloud capabilities meet regulatory and operational requirements, leveraging OpenText’s operations and security expertise gained by deploying government-grade cloud environments in multiple jurisdictions. Among them, implementations authorized by FedRAMP, evaluated by IRAP and in line with Protected B; and based on the PREMI3NS platform, certified by S3NS SecNumCloud.
This has allowed it to create a hybrid cloud offering designed specifically for the regulatory and jurisdictional requirements of France, allowing organizations in highly regulated sectors, such as those managing sensitive citizen and patient data, as well as financial information, to adopt cloud services while remaining compliant and in control.
The Initial sovereign hybrid offering proposed in this case will include a dedicated private cloudwith OpenText Content Management and Documentum Content Management for highly sensitive data. Also Sovereign SaaS, with OpenText Core Archive for SAP solutions, offered as a multi-tenant service with data residency in Europe. In addition, the offer complies with the GDPR, with SecNum 3.2 and other European requirements on data sovereignty.
OpenText via AWS European Cloud
As we have mentioned, OpenText will also make available to its clients several of its enterprise data and AI solutions on AWS European Sovereign Cloudthe new independent cloud for Europe that has provided hyperscaling, allowing the company to expand its capacity to offer a sovereign hybrid cloud in Europe, and for its clients to meet the requirements of operational autonomy and data residency within the EU.
The company’s tools available through the AWS European cloud will be OpenText Content Management, OpenText Document Content Management, OpenText Core Application Security and OpenText Core Service Management.
The AWS European Sovereign Cloud is a fully-featured, independently managed sovereign cloud with robust technical controls and legal protections designed to meet the needs of European governments and businesses. The AWS European Sovereign cloud infrastructure is entirely in the EU, and operates independently of existing AWS Regions.
According to Shannon Bell, Chief Digital and Information Systems Officer at OpenText«the Data governance and regulatory compliance are critical to the digital trust of regulated organizations. Across Europe, organizations are seeking innovations that preserve their sovereignty and control. OpenText answers that need by combining hyperscaler innovation with an independently managed operating model, giving customers the confidence to modernize while keeping their data, access and operations under secure regional control.«.
