Oppo will unveil its first eSIM-enabled flagship smartphone, the Find X9 series, tonight. The device is expected to run on the Dimensity 9500 chipset and support dual eSIM technology, allowing users to bind two carrier numbers online and switch freely between networks. It also will enable users share one phone number across two devices. The launch marks Oppo’s entry into the eSIM smartphone market after China approved nationwide eSIM commercial trials on Oct. 13. The Find X9 series will keep a physical SIM slot to ease the transition for users. With its Hasselblad imaging system and 7,000mAh battery, the new model aims to boost the adoption of card-free communication in the high-end smartphone market. [TechNode reporting]
