Palo Alto Networks y Google Cloud have announced a extension of your agreement with the aim of Make it easy for your customers to develop and deploy AI-enabled applications and tools securely.. Their collaboration will focus on combining Google Cloud’s AI and infrastructure capabilities with Palo Alto Networks’ AI security platform, Prisma AIRS.

The agreement seeks to address the problems generated by the use of cloud infrastructure to support new AI applications and services, while allowing their developers and those who implement them to protect themselves from attacks on their AI infrastructures. According to Reuters, in addition, the contract signed by both parties implies that Palo Alto Networks agrees to pay an amount of around $10 billion to Google Cloud over a period spanning several years.

Part of this investment will involve the migration of Palo Alto Networks’ existing product and service offerings to the Google Cloud platform, but a good part will be used to add new services that are associated with AI to a greater or lesser extent.

Palo Alto Networks and Google Cloud will also implement an enhanced go-to-market strategy, in addition to incorporating security into all layers of the hybrid multicloud infrastructure, in all phases of application development and in all endpoints. In this way, companies will be able to rely on AI and protect their intellectual property and data in the cloud.

Customers will be able to protect real-time AI workloads and data on Google Cloud, including Vertex AI and Agent Engine, with Palo Alto Networks Prisma AIRS. Additionally, by securing developer tools, such as the Agent Development Kit (ADK), with Prisma AIRS, expanded collaboration lays a secure foundation for the next generation of AI applications built on Google Cloud.

Additionally, Palo Alto Networks’ next-generation software VM Series firewalls, which the agreement also includes, are designed to protect virtualized and cloud environments through deep packet inspection as well as software threat prevention. Its integration with Google Cloud will allow customers to maintain strong security policies.

On the other hand, Palo Alto Networks Prisma Access will run on the Google network, which improves the experience of users when accessing cloud and AI applications that run on Google Cloud. Additionally, the platform leverages Google Cloud Interconnect to facilitate the connection of WAN infrastructures across multiple clouds and applications, as well as to maintain consistent security policies.

Alignment between the two companies means that customer solutions will be pre-vetted and designed to work together. This eliminates integration issues and operational barriers that can slow down security teams. Additionally, customers will be able to deploy protection faster, simplify compliance, and gain a broader view of security across their hybrid multi-cloud environment.

BJ Jenkins, President of Palo Alto Networkshas mentioned that «Every board of directors is wondering how to harness the power of AI without exposing the company to new threats. This association answers that question. We’re removing the friction between security and development, providing a unified platform where the most advanced security is simply a native part of building the future. Together with Google, we are integrating our AI-based security into the fabric of Google Cloud, turning the platform itself into a proactive defense system.«.

Matt Renner, President and Chief Revenue Officer, Google Cloudhas highlighted for his part that «Enterprises are increasingly turning to Google Cloud and Palo Alto Networks to secure their applications and data, together and seamlessly. This latest expansion of our partnership will ensure our joint customers have access to the right solutions to protect their most critical AI infrastructure and develop new AI agents with security built in from the start.«.
