The Google Pixel 4a smartphones launched in mid-2020 and now in mid-2025 it looks like we might finally be close to seeing mainline kernel support for the Pixel 4a devices and other hardware making use of Qualcomm Snapdragon 730/730G/732G SoCs.
Posted to the Linux kernel mailing list yesterday was a patch series enabling the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730/730G/732G “SM7150” platform/SoC support and enabling Google Pixel 4a device support.
While focused initially on the Google Pixel 4a, there are a number of other Qualcomm SM7150 platforms that would benefit and be able to be upstreamed following it with numerous Xiaomi devices, the Lenovo Tab P11 Pro, and Samsung Galaxy A71.
