Pixel 10 lineup leak: How is Google’s flagship range shaping up?

Google has had a pretty hard time keeping its upcoming Pixel 10 collection under wraps.

It has leaked extensively over the past few months, to the point where we know most of what Google is planning to reveal at its event on 20 August. We’ve seen spec leaks, design renders and more – and Google itself even teased the phone recently.

However, the latest leak is arguably one of the biggest yet – and it comes directly from Google itself.

The Pixel 10 range has leaked in its entirety

The Android Authority team claims that it has managed to uncover a banner for Google’s upcoming Pixel 10, 10 Pro, 10 Pro XL, and 10 Pro Fold. Where? None other than Google’s own Play Store app for Android, showcasing the phones in all their glory ahead of their expected reveal on 20 August.

The banner doesn’t appear to be visible natively on the Google Play app, and the team behind the discovery admitted they were “poking around” on the app, suggesting that some extra steps were taken to make it visible.

However, regardless of how it appeared, the banner quite obviously showcases all four upcoming devices in the collection, accompanied by the text “Meet the new Pixel 10 Series”.

It also showcases a promotion offering $50 off the devices, which will apparently remain in place until mid-October in the US. No announcement or release date information is provided, although the range is expected to be available within a week or so of its announcement on 20 August, according to rumours.

While some phone leaks originate from unconfirmed sources, if true, this is as accurate as you’ll get. It really is coming straight from the horse’s mouth.

… And it looks very familiar

The design of the devices in the leaked banner seems to align closely with the bevvy of leaks we’ve seen in the past few weeks, including an official teaser of what’s assumed to be the Pixel 10 shared by Google itself.

This essentially confirms what whispers have been suggesting for the past few months: that the Pixel 10 collection will resemble the Pixel 9 collection from last year almost identically. The entire collection appears similar, featuring the same combination of flat edges and rounded corners, as well as the same redesigned pill-shaped camera cutout.

Rumours do suggest some minor changes to build, but nothing that can be confirmed from Google’s accidental leak. We’ll just have to wait and see on that front.

That said, the leaked image does confirm several rumours about the Pixel 10 collection, aside from its near-identical design.

Google accidentally confirms a bunch of rumours

First up, three of the four Pixels in the banner seem to showcase an entirely new silvery-blue colour option – a colour option that had been previously rumoured to be available on the Pro models of the Pixel 10 collection.

It’s apparently dubbed Moonstone, and with all models of Pixel 10 aside from the non-Pro base model sporting the colour option, it looks like that rumour could indeed be on the money. Instead, the base model features a bright blue finish allegedly dubbed Indiego Blue, suggesting that it may offer more vibrant colour options than its premium counterparts.

The bigger confirmation comes if you look closely at the regular Pixel 10’s rear camera housing. Instead of the smaller dual-camera setup we got from the Pixel 9, the Pixel 10 sports what looks like a triple camera setup – hinted by the larger cutout, which matches the other triple-camera modules in the collection.

Rumours suggest that the Pixel 10 will finally feature a third camera this year, reportedly equipped with a 10.8MP 5x zoom lens, although the other lenses may experience a slight downgrade as a result. The 48MP ultrawide from the Pixel 9, for example, is said to drop down to 12MP this year – though that isn’t visible from the leaked image.

Google is set to lift the lid on the Pixel 10 collection at its Made by Google event on 20 August, so we don’t have long to see the phones in all their glory – but given this leak, it looks like we’ll be seeing some very familiar phones next month.

If you want to find out more about the collection, we cover the Pixel 10 rumours and Pixel 10 Pro Fold rumours in more detail separately.
