What is SACHET App:
SACHET app is a newly launched disaster alert platform, developed by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). It is launched as part of country’s adoption of the Common Alerting Protocol (CAP). It provides people with real-time, geo-targeted alerts about natural disasters, including cyclones, floods, landslides, and any other natural-disaster or calamity.

It keeps users informed and prepared by sending timely alerts so that people can take necessary ayions before the calamity hits. Additionally, it delivers official warnings like storms or tsunamis and gives updates from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). It has multi-language support that can be understood by people from any region or part of the country. It is available in 12 regional languages.
People can receive notifications based on their current location or subscribe to updates for specific states or districts, ensuring that they are notified immediately about emergencies. It is available for download on both Android and iOS platforms.
The app also comes with read-out-loud feature and hence it is helpful for people with visual impairments. The app is also equipped with satellite connectivity which helps the app to still function during network outages. Network issue is a common problem during disaster situations.
