WHETHER you’re into collecting or battling, it seems Pokémon fans have become obsessed with TCG Pocket.
The free-to-play app has been a hit with fans, and millions have already signed up.
Among the almost 200 cards you can collect are full-art cards complete with gorgeous illustrations.
The rarest among these already uncommon cards are the immersive cards that allow you to enter the illustration.
There are just four of these cards for some of the most popular Pokémon: Mewtwo, Charizard, Pikachu and Mew.
However, while the first three are available inside the booster packs you can open, Mew is a special reward.
If you want to grab your own immersive full-art Mew card, you have to collect at least one of every Pokémon from Kanto.
That means you’ll need at least one version of each Pokémon from the original 150.
Luckily, this means you won’t have to collect all of the other full art cards or other rare variations in order to grab your Mew.
It will still take you a while if you want to catch ‘em all but you can get single cards for pack points from the booster pack opening screen to fill out your last missing pieces.
I choose Mew
TCG Pocket might be free-to-play, but it is certainly pay-to-win, with the strongest cards being extremely difficult to get if you don’t spend cold, hard cash.
With the huge number of gorgeous full-art cards, and the nature of collecting, people will be constantly tempted to spend money.
Let’s not forget that TCG Pocket is based around loot boxes, which is particularly scary when you can pay real money to open them.
While the collecting and battling are fun, make sure that you monitor your children’s usage, even if they don’t have access to in-game purchases.
Mew further encourages players to spend real money, so be careful if you are trying to grab it.
