Every week, Netflix drops a bunch of new content for viewers to stream from TV and movie studios all over the world. Watching all of it would take you way too much time, so I decided to start my Friday by recommending three top picks for the weekend and week to come. Schedule your viewing around these shows and movies, and I’ll be watching along with you. August ends and September begins with the conclusion of Wednesday‘s second season, the return of Pokemon Concierge, and more. Here’s what you should check out.

This Week on Netflix: PCMag’s Picks

Unknown Number: The High School Catfish (Aug. 29)

The advent of cell phones has made bullying and teenage tomfoolery much more intense, and the new documentary Unknown Number: The High School Catfish dives into one of the most bizarre examples in recent history. When a girl in Michigan and her new boyfriend start getting harassing texts from a mysterious stranger, what starts as a little scary becomes deeply weird when the true culprit is discovered.

  • Director: Skye Borgman

  • Genre: Documentary

  • Rating: TV-MA

Wednesday: Season 2 Part 2 (Sept. 3)

Wednesday Addams’ new position as the savior of Nevermore Academy didn’t last long. In the first half of the new season, she’s reanimated the dead, gained an invisible stalker, and lost a duel with her own mother. Now a resident of the Willow Hill Psychiatric Hospital, she has mysteries to solve and threats to survive, including her brother’s pet zombie.

  • Director: Tim Burton, others

  • Cast: Jenna Ortega, Hunter Doohan, Emma Myers

  • Genre: Fantasy

  • Rating: TV-14

  • IMDb Rating: 8.0/10

Pokémon Concierge: Season 1 Part 2 (Sept. 4)

One of the most ridiculously charming video game tie-in products ever created, the lovingly stop-motion animated Pokémon Concierge follows Haru, a young woman who stumbles into a job at a resort for fighting monsters and must overcome the language barrier to help them relax in between tournaments. It’s total comfort food, whether you’re a Pokémon fanatic or not.
