IT’S 2025 and gearheads can now purchase a very popular Ford model for $2,000 less compared to last year.
The US carmaking giants have recently updated their website and listed the latest Ford Escape model at a discounted price.
As reported by Car Buzz, the 2025-model Escape has seen a $1,395 decrease on the basic Active trim, while the plug-in hybrid version of Ford’s compact crossover has been reduced by an impressive $2,100.
This means the 2025 Escape Active, featuring a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo engine that produces 180 bhp, now starts from $28,150.
Drivers can acquire the best-seller with an eight-speed automatic and front-wheel drive as standard, with all-wheel drive optional.
However, this reduced price does come with some changes inside that only eagle-eyed Ford connoisseurs may notice.
This includes the trim around the door glass, which was chrome but is now coloured black.
Ford has also removed power adjustment from the driver’s seat, which means no lumbar adjustment either.
There are some new option packages for 2025, including the addition of Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist+.
However, moving up through the lineup, there are no changes of note at all.
The Escape is considered a popular choice for drivers due to its roomy interior, large boot capacity, and efficient powertrains.
It was a top seller in 2024 – especially on the used car market where it broke into the top five most popular second-hand vehicles to buy.
The Escape isn’t the only offering from the Blue Oval that’s getting a price cut in 2025.
The sixth-gen Ford Bronco, which has been on the market since 2021, is getting a host of improvements this year, all the while seeing a listing decrease of $1,635.
The Bronco’s base trim is set for a return with more standard equipment and will start at just $39,890 – meaning the entry price has been lowered by $1,635 compared to the 2024 version.
This will also include plenty of new gear inside the Bronco’s cabin, which includes a 12-inch digital gauge cluster that was previously found on the Raptor – up from the previous setup which merely used an 8-inch screen.
Climate control vents for rear passengers can also now be found on the center console on four-door models, along with extra interior lighting and improved sound insulation.
Elsewhere, a Ford driver was recently left stunned after hearing an unexpected noise coming from their truck.
In a video posted to TikTok that has now racked up more than 4.2 million views, Ford driver Tommy reveals to viewers the old-school chime his vehicle started to produce when he opened the door.
Predominantly a feature on cars between 2009 and 2014, it’s a sound that appears to invoke feelings of nostalgia among viewers.
One commenter on TikTok even wrote: “Lowkey nostalgic.”
But Tommy felt differently about the chime, as he filmed himself angrily slamming the truck’s door to make the sound stop, captioning his video: “Bro forgot it’s 2024.”
