Amazon has now officially confirmed that Prime Day 2025 will soon be upon us, so for all the key information you need to know ahead of the event, keep reading on.

With Amazon’s Spring Deal Days being firmly in the rear-view mirror, the next major event on the consumer calendar is Amazon’s most famous sale of all: Prime Day. In case you don’t know, Prime Day is Amazon’s annual sale designed to offer big brand products at a reduced price, exclusively for Amazon Prime subscribers.

Prime Day is easily the best opportunity before Black Friday to score a bargain on the latest tech, so if you’re the mood for a bit of summertime retail therapy, here’s everything you need to know about Prime Day 2025.

When is Prime Day 2025?

We now know that Amazon Prime Day 2025 has been confirmed to take place in July.

At the time of writing, Amazon has not confirmed specific dates within July, but based on previous events, mid-July would be a safe bet (last year’s Prime Day took place July 16th and 17th).

How long will Prime Day 2025 last?

Amazon has yet to announce precise dates for the event, but if Prime Day 2025 is anything like previous Prime Day sales over the last few years then you can expect it to run for two days.

When should you sign up for Amazon Prime?

Knowing when to sign up to Amazon Prime (if you’re not already an active member) is crucial for making the most out of Prime Day. If you’re signing up to the 30-day free trial then we recommend doing so the day before Prime Day kicks off as you’ll have full access to the sale’s exclusive deals, and have plenty of time left over to enjoy additional perks like access to Prime Video and fast delivery.

What we expect from Prime Day 2025

Right off the bat, do not expect any deals on the Nintendo Switch 2 in this year’s Prime Day. By the time July rolls around, Nintendo’s new console will only have been on store shelves for a month, and while you might see the odd deal on a game or accessory, we don’t anticipate the stock frenzy surrounding the device to dissipate anytime soon.

One trend that seems to be fairly consistent in Amazon’s sales is the gradual affordability of OLED TVs, so if you’re hoping to upgrade your living room set-up this year, it’s probably worth waiting until Prime Day to nab yourself a bargain.

What happened during last year’s Prime Day

Last year’s Prime Day sale was particularly handy if you were in the market for a new phone, as there were some monumental discounts available for the Pixel 8 Pro and the iPhone 14 Plus, not to mention a ton of accessories to pair with them.

For example, AirPods Pro 2 were down to just £179 from £229, and in the US you could nab the excellent Apple Watch SE 2 for only $169. Hopefully we see a reappearance of some of these offers for 2025.
