Samsung has recently launched its latest foldable series globally. Now, the fans are eyeing the next major flagship launch – the Galaxy S26 series. While the launch is still way too far, some leaks have started pouring in the necessary details to shape what the next Samsung Galaxy S26 phones could be.
And going by the info so far, the Galaxy S26 lineup may not look like the previous Galaxy S25 series. What is changing? Know all the details here.
Samsung Galaxy S26 series models
Earlier reports hinted that Samsung may drop the ‘Plus’ variant altogether in 2026 and bring in an ‘Edge’ model instead. But now, fresh findings from an internal One UI 8 build show that the rebranding could go deeper. The usual ‘vanilla’ Galaxy S26 model may not even exist next year.
According to the firmware details obtained by SamMobile, Samsung may launch the Galaxy S26 series with three models — Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26 Edge, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. The codenames seen in the software — M1, M2, and M3 — seem to back this up. The base model being labelled ‘Pro’ instead of the usual standard version also hints at a more premium starting point for the series.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra May get Snapdragon’s next-gen chip
The Galaxy S26 Ultra’s firmware has also confirmed another big upgrade. The chipset model listed is PMK8850, which is believed to be Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2. For context, the Galaxy S25 Ultra ran on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (model 8750), so the jump in numbering fits Qualcomm’s naming trend.
What else do we know about the Ultra? The leaks suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra may feature a 6.9-inch display, a 200MP main camera with a wider aperture, a 50MP 5x zoom camera, a 5,000mAh battery with 60W fast charging, and 12GB or 16GB RAM variants.
As for the Pro and Edge variants, it’s still unclear whether Samsung will go with the same Snapdragon chip or its in-house Exynos 2600, which is said to come with a new cooling system.
