CAM Ward has revealed that it would be a “dream” to play for the New Orleans Saints.

The quarterback, 22, is the projected No.1 pick ahead of next month’s NFL Draft.

While the Tennessee Titans possess the first pick, Ward has spoken enthusiastically about the Saints.

“It would be a dream to play for them, if I get a chance someday,” Ward admitted when asked about his meetings with the 2009 Super Bowl champions.

New Orleans has the ninth pick in the Draft, with Ward incredibly unlikely to fall that far.

Irrespective of this, the Miami Hurricanes star met with the franchise and came away with only positive things to say about the Saints and its new head coach Kellen Moore.

“It was a great meeting,” Ward told reporters after winning the Allstate Sugar Bowl 2024 Manning Award.

“If you get a chance to go play with a Super Bowl coach like coach Moore — he knows how to dial up a playbook.”

Ward hails from West Columbia, Texas, and grew up admiring the Saints.

“The Saints were one of my favorite teams growing up,” the top prospect revealed.

“When I was little, I loved watching Drew Brees and [Marques] Colston out there.”

With the Saints not picking until No.9 in the Draft, Ward did confess that playing at the Superdome is not currently on his mind.

“That’s not really my main focus right now,” he said.

Ward also played down the importance of being selected first overall.

“It wouldn’t mean anything to me, the pick is never anything,” he claimed.

“If someone wants to be known for a pick, they’re not playing for the right reasons.”

Ward is currently valued ahead of Shedeur Sanders as the best QB in this year’s Draft class.

It’s believed that Sanders, 23, could go on to be selected No.3 by the New York Giants.

The Cleveland Browns possess the second overall pick.

Kevin Stefanski’s team may select Penn State graduate Abdul Carter.

The first round of the NFL Draft is set to take place on April 24.

The following rounds will then go ahead across the next two days.
