PROPERTY Brothers star Drew Scott is ready to show the world that he is the tough guy brother.

Canadian Drew, 46, is over the moon about showing off his martial arts skills in new movie Love Hurts starring Ke Huy Quan.

The HGTV personality teased that could spawn a second career – away from home renovations – as an action star in Hollywood.

And he says renovating homes is like a warm up for being a big screen action hero.

Drew admitted that he saw himself as a potential Batman as he has a background as a karate champion.

He also reflected on how displaced LA families will have wait over a year to even start thinking about cleaning up their burned out homes from the recent devastating wildfires.

“The new movie Love Hurts comes out this week,” Drew said in an exclusive interview with The U.S. Sun at The Saturn Awards in LA.

“And so for me to be a part of that, it brings me back to the acting side, which is exciting. And I haven’t done anything like this in a long time.

“I’ve been hosting, I guess renovating houses is sort of like a warmup for action movies or thriller. So that was my little warmup.

“But it’s exciting to be acting alongside Ke (Huy Quan) in his movie.

“It’s a lot of fun. You’ll love it if you haven’t seen it yet.”

Outlining his next big screen plans, Drew revealed:  “Actually for me, all I ever wanted as a kid was to be an actor and a director.

“And I have a martial arts background.

“I’ve been hosting, I guess renovating houses is sort of like a warmup for action movies or thriller.

“I was a seven time national champion in Shotokan karate.

“And so the idea of getting into something that’s more action-based from what I do on the day-to-day hosting is exciting for me.”

He teased that Love Hurts audiences “might see me kick a little a**, so look out. It’s worth watching.”

BATMAN DREAMS

Drew then lightheartedly admitted that he was ready to throw his hat into the ring for becoming the next James Bond or even Batman.

With Daniel Craig’s exit from 007 leaving his screen successor role wide open, Drew said: “I won’t pretend I can do a Sean Connery impression. I won’t even try and I am Scottish. It would be very funny.

“So we’re with Warner Brothers Discovery on HGTV, and when they were looking for a new Batman, I always thought I can step in there. I have a bit of that Ben Affleck look….come on. We will see.”

As a teenager Drew landed roles in Smallville and Breaker High, but turned his talent to real estate investment with brother Jonathan.

Sci-fi fan Drew loved attending and presenting the Saturn Awards because “there is a lot of talent here I have been watching for decades.”

“It makes me feel one step closer to the spirit of Star Trek or Star Wars or whatever it may be,” he added.

REBUILDING LA

The housing expert also revealed that he and his brother Jonathan are working on helping Los Angeles rebuild after the destructive fires that engulfed the city earlier this year.

He admitted that while some LA authorities initially promised that sites will be clear within weeks, Scott feels that 2026 is more realistic.

Environmental Protection Agency chiefs are overseeing the monitoring of toxic waste and debris from over 6,800 structures that were destroyed and 1,017 that were damaged.

“Even just cleanup of any toxic waste or whatnot this is, I think six months to a year probably,” Drew said.

“And then again, then you’re going to have debris removal, then you’ll have rebuilding. At least the cities are trying to work together to expedite getting the permit process a little faster than it typically is here in LA, so that we can get everything ready to go the moment things are free to build.

“So there’s a lot of unknown right now.

‘PULLING TOGETHER’

“We will see in the coming months where things land, but I know a lot of people are pulling together to do everything they can.

“It’s heartbreaking.”

He added: “We have loved ones that have lost their homes, and I know a lot of people have.

“It is a really tough time right now here in LA and whether up in the Palisades or Altadena, there’s so many areas that have been affected, so many families displaced.

“It really is going to take a massive community of people to come together to help rebuild and help these families that have been displaced and the businesses that have been displaced.

“We’re working with the city. We’re also working with A Sense Of Home and Home Bank LA who are really helping people get into temporary housing while they can rebuild.

“If you don’t have that sense of security and safety at home, if you lose that, it affects every aspect of your life.

“And my brother and I are all in to try and help families any way we can, but I definitely implore people to check out Home Bank LA [and] A Sense Of Home as well, to see if there’s anything that they can do to be a part of helping.

“There are a lot of great organizations that are helping rebuild too.”

Scott was one of the star attendees along with Colin Farrell, Nicolas Cage, Mark Hamill and Antony Starr at The Saturn Awards, which is considered the Oscars of the sci-fi entertainment genre.

Star Trek icon William Shatner won a Lifetime Achievement Award at the awards.
