QNAP presents accelerators for perimeter

Qnap Systems, Inc., has announced the launch of the new Accelerators for perimetralQAI-M100 and QAI-U100 models, for use with the NAS systems of the company specialized in networks and storage.

With an installation plug-and-play and a flexible configuration, these accelerators offer small and medium -sized companies and private users a affordable solution to optimize AI applicationssuch as facial and object recognition, explains Andy Chung, Qnap product manager:

«With the rapid growth of the EDGE, the demand for real -time data processing and analysis has increased. The combination of QNAP NAS with perimeter accelerators, not only provides a high performance storage platform, but also significantly increases the computer efficiency of AI applications, thus improving general profitability ».

New QNAP accelerators

Users can install two QAI accelerators in the same NAS or application to improve performance. The main models and characteristics are:

  • Qai-M100: Use an interface m.2 2280 B+M and has a 3 tops NPU. Requires a NAS with a PCIE m.2 2280 slot or a PCIE expansion slot to install a QNAP expansion card QM2. His mIntegrated Emeria is 1 GB and has heat dissipation cooling system.
  • Qai-u100: Use a USB 3.2 Gen 1 type A interface and has a 3 tops NPU. It requires a NAS with a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type A

According to the laboratory tests carried out by QNAP, add an qai perimeter accelerator to a QNAP NAS can increase the speed of recognition of qmagie album objects of the smart album up to 36 % and the speed of facial recognition by up to 22 %.
