Qualcomm Buy the Chips Alphawave SEMI company for 2.4 billion

Qualcomm has reached a Agreement to Buy the British chips company Alphawave Semi for 2.4 billion of dollars, which will pay in metallic. The purchase will serve Qualcomm to advance the development of technology for artificial intelligence, and of course, in data centers, an area for which the CPU Oryon and the NPU Hexagon already have, characterized by offering elevated performance with reduced consumption.

Alphawave SEMI, founded in 2017, is dedicated to the development of computing technologies and high -speed connectivity. It offers intellectual property, custom chips, connectivity products. and developed chiplets for high performance connectivity with reduced energy consumption.

Alphawave semi products are part of the main services infrastructure from various areas and applications, such as data centers, AI, data networking, autonomous vehicles and flash storage. If everything goes as planned, the closure of the operation will be completed throughout the first quarter of 2026.

Tony Pialis, President and CEO of Alphawave Semihas stood out of the operation that «The acquisition of Alphawave Semi by Qualcomm represents an important milestone for us and an opportunity for our company to forces with a respected leader of the sector and boost the value for our clients. When combining our resources and experience, we will be in an ideal position to expand our product offer, reach a broader customer base and improve our technological abilities. Together, we will open new growth opportunities, boost innovation and create a leading actor in computing and connectivity solutions with AI«.

Cristiano Amon, CEO and president of Qualcommhe pointed out about his interest in Alphawave Semi that «Under Tony’s leadership, Alphawave Semi has developed leading high -speed and computer wiring connectivity technologies that complement our low -consumption CPU and NPU nuclei. Qualcomm Advanced Personalized Processors are ideal for the workloads of data centers. Combined equipment shares the objective of creating advanced technological solutions and allowing state -of -the -art connected computer performance in a wide range of high growth areas, including infrastructure of data centers«.
