He Minister for Digital Transformation and Public Service, Óscar Lópezhas confirmed that Red.es has already granted 530,000 aid from the Digital Kit programaimed at facilitating the digitalization of self-employed workers and small and medium-sized businesses.
This information, confirmed by López during his visit this past weekend to the Acelera Pyme Office in Madrid, located at the headquarters of the Official College of Telecommunications Engineers, means that SMEs and the self-employed will receive aid from the Recovery and Resilience Plan, the NextGenerationEU funds, for a total value of about 2.3 billion euros.
The Acelera Pyme office in Madrid is one of the 155 managed by Red.es in Spain, and which until now have offered advice on new technologies to some 160,000 Spanish self-employed workers and SMEs. During the visit, the minister met with representatives of three small companies that have participated in the program, as well as with one of the advisors from Acelera Pyme.
Of the total number of organizations and professionals that have requested aid, and have already received it, 75,000 are in Madrid. In total, the budget for the Digital Kit amounts to 3,067 million euros, so around 20% of the total budget still needs to be allocated and delivered. The deadline for requesting and granting the proposed aid ends in less than a year: October 31, 2025.
It has not been the only program that the minister has offered data on during the visit, since he has also provided figures on the one known as Kit Consulting. This program focuses on offering aid to SMEs that have between 10 and 250 workers, with the aim of improving their possibilities for hiring advisory services for digital transformation.
Until now, this program, whose mission is to collaborate in the digital transformation of a minimum of 15,000 companies, has delivered around half of the aid in five months to which it was committed to the European Union organizations: 7.400. The applications received exceed the total aid that has been set as the objective for this program.
