Renault resuscitates the legendary R4… but in version 2025 and in firefighter! The Vision 4rescue concept, presented as a “demo-car”, is based on the basis of the Renault 4 E-Tech electric, but has been deeply redesigned to meet the concrete needs of the emergency services. Designed in collaboration with several firefighters and engineers from Software République (a collective of seven French companies, including Renault), this vehicle works as a mobile and connected command center.
A rolling laboratory for emergency situations
At the back, a sliding module allows you to install an desk with two screens connected to a computer. We can notably control an integrated drone, stored in a capsule on the roof. This nacelle also houses antennas intended to restore communications in disaster areas. Under the control station are two storage boxes containing the essential equipment: helmets, intervention bags, talkies-talkies and tablets. Everything is planned to always be loaded and immediately available.
In total, nearly twenty interconnected solutions form a real safety set, designed to accelerate and coordinate emergency interventions. The objective is to save time, improve readability in the field and centralize technical means.
Under its air of a revisited vintage vehicle, Vision 4rescue is a real 4 × 4 of modern times. Compared to the conventional electric Renault 4, its ground clearance was enhanced by 15 mm, and it benefits from an all -wheel drive thanks to a second engine placed on the rear axle. What easily face the damaged terrains.
The exterior design, on the other hand, leaves no doubt about its mission. The red flame bodywork is covered with fluorescent yellow-green bands, and the “rescue” and “firefighters” markings are clearly visible on the sides. The emergency call numbers 112 and 18 are registered on the rear windows, while the roof capsule is bordered by a blue LED ramp. Even the front and rear buttocks, printed in 3D, carry a “Pinpon” motif in homage to the sound of the sirens.
The concern for detail goes to the inside. The seats are covered with a fabric incorporating foam from the recycling of firefighter combinations, already fire. On the dashboard, a polished metal bar engraved ” I receive you 4 out of 4 »Serves as a handle… or support for Talkies-Walkies. And to secure night interventions or in hostile environments, a reflective strip placed on the rear doors makes it possible to signal their opening.
With this concept, Renault explores what the intervention car could be in the future: modular, ultra-connected and thought with and for professionals on the ground. The 4rest vision is not just a simple exercise in style: it is also a functional demonstration, designed to inspire future operational vehicles.
