Ricoh Spain has recently released its new headquarters in Madrid Las Tablas, a space that reflects the digital transformation of the company and its commitment to hybrid work, sustainability and collaboration. During our visit to the office after the inauguration to which we were invited, we were able to verify how these modern facilities serve as authentic showcase for the technological solutions that Ricoh offers for both smart offices and for advanced videoconference environments.
A space designed for experience and collaboration
Ricoh’s new offices in the tables occupy more than 1,000 square meters and house approximately 600 employees in Madrid. As Javier Bernárdez, commercial responsible for great accounts and new director of the Madrid office, during the presentation: “We did not want to make an office just to show products, but to show how we work with our employees and how we do it with our customers.” This approach materializes in a space where approximately 70% is intended for collaborative areasdesigned to offer a different experience to what employees have in their homes.
The commitment to sustainability is evident in every corner of the new headquarters. The office has been designed following strict environmental criteria, using 80% of recycled materials in remodeling. In addition, much of the furniture and materials of the previous offices have been reused or donated to social inclusion projects, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (ESG).
Digital transformation and economic results
The inauguration coincides with a moment of growth for Ricoh in Spain and Portugal. As announced by Ramón Martín, CEO of Ricoh in Spain and Portugal, during the event, the company expects to close its fiscal year 2024 (which ends on March 31, being a Japanese company) with a turnover of approximately 380 million euros, which represents an increase of 4.4% compared to the previous year. This figure reflects the consolidation of Ricoh as a technological reference in the Iberian region, where it has more than 2,200 employees distributed in 17 venues.
A remarkable aspect is Ricoh’s evolution to be a company traditionally focused on printing solutions to a comprehensive supplier of digital services. Currently, the printing business in the Iberian Peninsula represents 48% of its turnover, while in 2012 this percentage amounted to 91%. “We have managed to maintain leadership in the printing market while we have transformed ourselves, making 52% of our income come from services such as Cloud, Cybersecurity, Digital Workplace and Application Modernization,” Martín said.
Innovative solutions for digital work space
The new offices work as A true technological showcase where we could experience firsthand the solutions that Ricoh offers for the modern work space for different uses and activities. The videoconference rooms especially stand out, integrating technologies that combine the spaces of physical and online meetings to achieve a fluid experience for both face -to -face and remote participants with advanced technological solutions but also architectural such as noise attenuation panels.
The digital signage (Digital Signage) also plays an important role in the new facilities, Granting visibility to the brand and its corporate messages through a cloud -based platform. We were able to see these solutions in action at the reception of the office with messages for the employees themselves designed by the marketing and human resources team.
Ricoh’s transformation has been possible thanks to strategic alliances with firms such as Dell, Microsoft, LG and Logitech, which complement their offer and allow it to position themselves as An advanced technological solution integrator. The company has also strengthened its position in automation and digitalization of processes with the acquisition of specialized companies such as Docuware, IPM, Pamafe and Totalstor. Recently inaugurated in Alcobendas (Madrid) its Hypeutomation Factory for all of Europe, a center that strengthens Ricoh’s processes digitalization capabilities.
Ricoh’s new headquarters in the tables represents the physical materialization of the transformation that the company has experienced in the last decade. These modern facilities enhance the work of the company’s employees while demonstrating customers how technological solutions but also a more modern office concept can create more collaborative mixed work environments, more creative, flexible and productive in addition to sustainable.
