He signed a one-year deal with the team after being released by the New York Jets.
The four-time MVP has rarely played in preseason games during the latter part of his career.
According to NBC’s Pro Football Talk, a 2023 preseason appearance for the Jets was his first since 2018.
But Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has often played his starters in August.
And Rodgers insists he’s “fully on board” if the team wants him to play preseason.
The Steelers have three preseason games in August before beginning their campaign at the Jets on September 7.
They play the Jacksonville Jaguars, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Carolina Panthers in preseason games.
And Rodgers is open to playing some part in the exhibition games.
“It’s an interesting conversation,” he told reporters at Steelers training camp Wednesday.
“I think Mike and I have that at some point.
“I don’t think it’s in the plan for me to play this week.
“But whatever Mike wants to do, I’m fully on board.”
Rodgers is one of four quarterbacks currently on the Steelers roster.
He is in a room with Mason Rudolph, Skylar Thompson and rookie Will Howard, who has a hand injury.
Rodgers signed for the Steelers in June after months of speculation over his future.

After his unveiling, the quarterback said working with coach Tomlin was a key factor in his decision.
He said, “A lot of decisions that I’ve made over my career and life from strictly the ego, even if they turn out well, are always unfulfilling.
“But the decisions made from the soul are usually pretty fulfilling.
“This was a decision that was best for my soul.
“I felt like being here with coach Mike Tomlin and the guys that got here, and the opportunity here was the best for me and I’m excited to be here.”
