The first major technology fair of the year begins. The CES in Las Vegas is here and the main manufacturers worldwide show us what they have planned for 2025. This is the case of Samsung, which at its event has unveiled what they call ‘Samsung Vision AI’.
If last year we saw that artificial intelligence was one of the big bets for the Galaxy mobile series, now it is the Neo QLED, OLED and QLED televisions that receive these improvements.
Samsung explains that televisions will no longer be just a box in our living room. The new televisions promise to “understand the environment” and adapt to user preferences. As? Here we explain what are the first AI innovations that Samsung is going to incorporate into its new televisions by 2025.
The first of them is ‘Click to Search’. If on mobile we have ‘Surround to Search’, on televisions Samsung will offer an option that offers instant information about what appears on the screen. We can see who the actor who appears is or ask him questions about what is being shown. An integrated AI assistant without having to leave the screen.
The second tool is ‘Live Translate’. As its name indicates, it is a real-time translation of what is shown on TV. According to Samsung, this function will eliminate language barriers, allowing almost any content to be understood in different languages.
Finally we have a customization option such as wallpapers with generative AI, to create images to our liking.
For the moment, Samsung’s AI will continue to be based on Bixby, although the company does not rule out collaborating with Google and Gemini, just as they have been doing on mobile phones.
We do not forget the use of AI to improve image and sound algorithms. As manufacturers have been doing for some time, televisions will adjust the image and audio in real time depending on the environment and content. For example, at night a dark movie will not be configured in the same way as a football game.
In parallel, Samsung has announced a collaboration with Microsoft to add Microsoft Copilot on televisions and monitors. With this alliance, users will be able to search for information, use remote voice commands and receive recommendations, as we have described previously.
The model that will debut the Samsung Vision AI will be the new one Neo QLED 8K QN990F, its flagship model for 2025. This television will come with a larger size, reaching up to 115″, a 240 Hz refresh rate and the NQ8 AI Gen 3 processor.
The AI functions will also reach the rest of the new Neo QLED, QLED and OLED models, the latter a technology in which Samsung is going to redouble its commitment.
