Samsung’s first Galaxy XR headset is now official, but that hasn’t stopped the company teasing future AR products. Samsung’s Worlds Wide Open event on Oct. 21 finished with an on-stage teaser for the brand’s upcoming smart glasses.
Samsung confirmed it’s working with popular fashion brands Gentle Monster and Warby Parker on devices running the Android XR platform.
Jay Kim, Head of Customer Experience at Samsung, said, “We’re working with two of the most forward thinking brands in eyewear, Warby Parker and Gentle Monster, to introduce new devices that fit into your lifestyle. We brought mobile AI to millions of people, and we will continue with Android XR.”
The launch then featured a short video of artist’s impressions of how the tech may work. It shows people looking at building plans, riding a bike, walking through an airport, and watching a soccer match with information appearing over what they’re viewing. The teaser ended with a potential look at the design, but there’s no obvious tech on display.
Samsung says, “Seamlessly connected to the Android XR ecosystem, these devices will pair advanced XR capabilities with style, comfort and practicality, bringing boundary-free discovery, work and play into daily life.” However, the brand has yet to explain its exact functionality on the smart glasses, and we likely won’t know more until the official launch.
Google previously announced a partnership with both Gentle Monster and Warby Parker on Android XR products. It appears Samsung will now be involved in that deal. All of the brand’s involved are likely looking to emulate Meta’s success with partners such as Ray-Ban and Oakley.
Drew Blackard, Samsung’s VP of Mobile Product Management, told TechRadar that the smart glasses would be “coming soon.”

He said, “I’ll use those words purposely in the sense that it’s not like a far-our concept.” He also confirmed the glasses wouldn’t be launching this year, but they’re “nearing the execution phase.”
Samsung often uses the end of its events to tease what’s coming next, and sometimes it launches new products soon after the first reveal. For example, Samsung’s Galaxy Ring was first teased in January 2024 before its full release in July of the same year.
It may be it plans to do something similar here with a 2026 launch, but we won’t know for sure until we hear directly from Samsung
