Samsung is most probably going to launch its first-ever extended reality headset in the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event. The headset is called Project Moohan which means Infinity in Korean. The first announcement regarding the same was made in December 2024. It is being hailed by the South Korean giant as a fierce competitor against Apple Vision Pro.
In a report published by Business Koreao, Samsung is possibly going to showcase the teaser videos and prototypes of Project Moohan at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event. The OS has been developed by Google in collaboration with Qualcomm.
Samsung Galaxy Project Moohan XR Headset details
Now, a few things that the masses should know is that XR works as a wide field in which we get to see three different visual technologies – mixed reality, virtual reality, and augmented reality. Samsung previously introduced a VR headset back in 2015. And now, with the launch of the XR headset, the company is going to make a mark in the XR headset segment.
The headset by Samsung is expected to bring passthrough support which is a feature that can be seen in other alternatives like Meta Quest 3 and Apple Vision Pro. As claimed by Samsung, the XR headset will also have Gemini AI assistant support along having apps that are optimized to run on a large virtual display.
Keeping the speculations in mind, the XR headset by Samsung could bring a lot of features that were announced by Google at the time of the Android XR launch. That being said, the users are suggested to wait for the official announcement regarding the device from Samsung and take the information with a grain of salt until then.
