Samsung fans are eyeing the next flagship lineup — the Galaxy S26 series. And even though the launch is still months away, leaks have started revealing what could be a big shift in Samsung’s naming and hardware strategy.

According to tipster Debayan Roy and some new firmware discoveries, Samsung might be planning to skip the regular Galaxy S26 and the Galaxy S26+ models next year. Instead, the 2026 flagship series may include just three models — Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26 Edge, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.

These names popped up in internal One UI 8 test builds, where the devices are codenamed M1, M2, and M3. The fact that the starting model could be called “Pro” instead of just “Galaxy S26” hints at a more premium base experience across the lineup.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: Leaked Specs And Features

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to come with solid upgrades. As per the leak, it might feature a 6.89-inch QHD+ flat OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. What powers it inside could be even more interesting—the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 chipset. For reference, the Galaxy S25 Ultra had the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, so the Elite Gen 2 would be its logical next step.

The camera setup may include:

  • A 200MP primary sensor
  • A 50MP ultra-wide camera
  • A 50MP 5x telephoto
  • A 12MP 3x zoom lens
  • And a 12MP front camera for selfies

On the battery front, the Ultra might pack a 5,000mAh cell with 60W wired fast charging and Qi2 wireless charging support. Despite all this, it could end up thinner than 8mm and lighter than before.

Talking about the Pro and the Edge models, some leaks suggest that the Galaxy S26 Pro is tipped to feature a 6.27-inch display and a 4,300mAh battery, while the S26 Edge might come with a 6.66-inch screen and either a 4,200mAh or 4,400mAh battery. It’s still unclear whether Samsung will go with Snapdragon chips for these models or switch to its in-house Exynos 2600, which is rumoured to bring a new cooling system.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Series Launch Timeline

The Galaxy S26 series isn’t expected to launch before early 2026, but it’s already clear that Samsung is rethinking both its naming and performance approach. No vanilla S26, no Plus model—just a tighter lineup that could start at “Pro” and raise the bar right from the base.
