Samsung is gearing up to launch its next flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S26 Ultra. As the successor to the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the S26 Ultra is expected to bring significant upgrades in hardware and performance to maintain Samsung’s lead in the premium smartphone market. Among the rumored improvements is a major boost in RAM technology, aimed at delivering faster speeds and better power efficiency.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra RAM and Internal Storage
As per reports, the tech giant is expected to embed its upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra with the 10.7Gbps LPDDR5X RAM which is developed by Samsung’ semiconductor division. To recall, the 10.7Gbps LPDDR5X RAM was firstly introduced in April 2024 that uses a 12nm manufacturing process. This is also the smallest chip size among current LPDDR variants.
Not only this, this RAM is said to offer 25% better data transfer and improved power efficiency, which means it offers data transfer speed of 10.7 gigabits per second
This enhanced RAM performance is expected to improve multitasking, speed up app launches, and support smoother gaming experiences on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Additionally, its better power efficiency should contribute to longer battery life, making the device more capable during heavy usage.
RAM Usage in Galaxy S25 Ultra
While some reports claim the Galaxy S26 Ultra will be the first Samsung device with this upgraded RAM, other sources suggest the Galaxy S25 Ultra may already have it. Since Samsung does not officially reveal detailed RAM specifications, there is no definitive confirmation yet.
Launch and Availability Timeline
Samsung has stated that mass production of the 10.7Gbps LPDDR5X RAM will start in the second half of 2024 after validation with mobile processors and device manufacturers. Given this timeline, it is unlikely that the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which would have been deep into production by then, includes this RAM. This supports the likelihood that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will be the first to launch with the new memory.
