Samsung has just announced its latest series of tablets, with the Galaxy Tab S11 and Tab S11 Ultra.

While Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab S10 series last year, it neglected to include a Tab S10 and, in its place, provided the Tab S10 Plus instead. With this in mind, which tablet should you choose?

We’ve compared the specs of the new Tab S11 to those of the four-star Tab S10 Plus to help you decide between the two Android tablets. Keep reading to learn more about the respective tablets and whether either has a shot at making it into our best Android tablets list.

Pricing and Availability

The recently launched Galaxy Tab S11 is the most affordable of Samsung’s new range, with a starting price of £799/$799 for its 128GB Wi-Fi-only model.

The Tab S10 Plus has a slightly cheaper starting price of £699/$699, however, as it’s nearly a year old, it’s more likely to see various deals and price cuts than the Tab S11.

Galaxy Tab S10 Plus has a larger display

As its name suggests, the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus features a larger display compared to the Tab S11. While the Tab S11 measures in at precisely 11 inches, the Tab S10 Plus is 12.4 inches.

Whether or not you prefer a larger display depends on what you’ll use the tablet for. If you’ll predominantly be streaming content or gaming, then the S10 Plus might be a more appealing option. However, we did note that the S10 Plus felt “a little odd” and constrictive when attempting productivity tasks, so that’s something to keep in mind.

Otherwise, both tablets sport an array of premium screen technologies, including a Dynamic AMOLED 2X display and a 120Hz refresh rate. Considering we hailed the Tab S10 Plus’ display as “outstanding” and “a beautiful canvas, especially if entertainment is your main use case”, the Tab S11 has a lot to live up to.

The Tab S11’s S Pen is redesigned

While both the Tab S11 and Tab S10 Plus come equipped with an S Pen in the box, the former boasts a redesigned version, which Samsung explains is built for both “focused work and creative expression”. Its design sports a cone-shaped tip for better control, while its hexagonal design promises a more natural, ergonomic feel too.

We’re yet to review the Tab S11 series, and therefore its redesigned S Pen. However, considering we found the previous S Pen iteration to be brilliant, and offered a responsive and tactile writing experience, we’re excited to see how the new design fares.

Galaxy Tab S11 has Gemini built in

Much like in the Galaxy S25 series, plus the latest Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 handsets, Gemini has a starring role in the Tab S11 line-up. Simply press and hold the side button to activate Gemini and you’ll be able to carry out commands across different apps.

Plus, with Gemini Live you can have a natural conversation with Gemini, based on what’s on-screen or through the camera lens.

Having said that, it’s worth remembering that the Tab S10 series still includes the entire Galaxy AI suite. This means you can find AI-powered tools such as Writing Assist, Sketch to Image, Circle to Search and more.

Plus, with both the Tab S10 and S11 series, pair the tablet with the accompanying Book Cover Keyboard and you’ll have access to the Galaxy AI key, which brings up the entire suite with just a press.

Galaxy Tab S11 has upgraded Samsung DeX functionality

While Samsung DeX has been a staple of the Galaxy Tab series since the Tab S8, the Tab S11 lineup boasts upgrades to help boost productivity. Essentially, Samsung DeX allows you to turn your compatible Galaxy Tab S-series tablet into a makeshift PC experience, by connecting it to an external monitor, via a USB-C to HDMI cable.

The Tab S11 benefits from enhanced Samsung DeX, which sports upgrades including Extended Mode which runs DeX across both your tablet and external monitor simultaneously. There’s also the option for users to create up to four separate workspaces for different needs too. For example, Samsung advises that one workspace can be dedicated to work, another for creative projects and a third for planning a trip.

Powering the entire Galaxy Tab S11 series, including the Tab S11 Ultra, is the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 Plus chipset. Samsung promises that the Tab S11 series delivers its “most advanced performance yet,” which should result in faster processing, smoother multitasking, and more responsive AI features.

On the other hand, the Tab S10 Plus runs on Dimensity 9300, which, although scored fairly unimpressively during our benchmarking tests, especially when compared to the iPad Pro and even iPad Air, we were still able to play games and multitask without much interruption.

Having said that, it’s worth noting that for productivity-based tasks, we’d always recommend the iPad Air or especially the iPad Pro over the Android tablet. We’ll have to wait and see how the Tab S11 compares.

Early Verdict

With a speedy processor, premium screen technology housed in a compact and portable 11-inch display, plus Gemini built-in, the Galaxy Tab S11 seems like a promising Android tablet for those who don’t want the obvious Apple alternative.

Additionally, considering that the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus is more expensive at the time of writing, the Tab S11 seems like a no-brainer. However, we’ll be sure to update this versus once we’ve reviewed the Galaxy Tab S11.
