Just 24 hours after LG revealed its plans to launch Micro RGB televisions at CES 2026, Samsung has followed suit by promising to show off its own expanded range during the annual showcase.

In a media release, Samsung says the eye-popping (both in terms of colour accuracy and price) tech is coming to more display sizes with new 55-, 65-, 75-, 85-, 100- and 115-inch models on the way. Samsung had initially launched a 115-inch Micro RGB set for 2025 that arrives with a $30,000 price tag. Now the company is ready to expand the offering, hopefully with the intention of making the technology a little more affordable.

Just like the LG set announced yesterday, Samsung’s technology relies on the same principle. Instead of the white backlights used with LEDs, Micro RGBs use thousands of tiny red, green and blue LEDs that emit light independently. The end result is more accurate colour reproduction and improved brightness with a larger number of dimming zones. The precision colours are certified by VDE, achieving 100% of the BT.2020 wide colour gamut.

Samsung is promising its AI picture processing technologies like 4K AI Upscaling Pro and AI Motion Enhancer Pro. There’s also a next-gen AI chipset that offers “more precise frame-by-frame clarity and realism.”

Indeed, Samsung is making the lofty claim of “reshaping home entertainment” as the tech giants tend to do ahead of revealing another crop of televisions the vast majority of the population cannot afford.

“With Samsung’s latest technology, our Micro RGB portfolio delivers vivid colour and clarity that make movies, sports and TV shows feel more expressive and engaging,” said Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display (VD) Business at Samsung Electronics. “By expanding the lineup for 2026, we’re establishing a new premium category with sizes that span the full range of modern living spaces while maintaining our highest picture standards.”
