Samsung makes some of the best foldables around – but considering it was one of the first companies to release foldables back in 2019, it shouldn’t be any surprise.
This year’s iterations, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, represent some of the best foldable tech around – and there’s a very tempting offer on the latter that makes it a must-have.
Amazon has slashed the price of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 from £1049 to just £849, representing a huge £200 saving on a flip-style foldable that only made its debut in July. That’ll net you the stylish Blue Shadow colourway with 256GB of storage – plenty of storage for your apps, photos and videos.

Some of you might have foldable fear from the early days of foldable tech when they were flimsy, underpowered and rather disappointing – but foldables have come a long way in the past few years, to the point where the Galaxy Z Flip 7 feels properly grown up and capable.
The Flip 7 is undoubtedly the best Flip to date, and one that can finally take the fight to the clamshell competition. It’s not perfect, but for most people, it’s all the foldable they need.

Samsung has finally nailed the balance of style, practicality and fun with the Flip 7. It’s slimmer, lighter and folds down to a genuinely tiny square that disappears into a bag or even a small pocket. The redesigned hinge feels sturdy yet easy to flip one-handed, the crease is less distracting, and you still get that deeply satisfying snap shut once you’re done.
Both screens have had exactly the upgrades fans have been asking for. On the outside, a new 4.1-inch cover display now stretches almost edge to edge, making it far more useful for selfies, widgets and bite-sized app use.
On the inside, the main foldable panel has grown to 6.9 inches and shifted to a wider 21:9 aspect ratio, which makes typing, gaming and streaming videos feel far closer to a ‘normal’ flagship phone than those that came before.
It’s bright enough to stay visible in most environments, colour-rich without being cartoon-ish, and the wider slab finally makes the Flip feel like a no-compromise device compared to regular bar phones.

Day-to-day performance and camera quality round out this year’s upgrade nicely. The Exynos 2500 chipset keeps everything feeling fast and fluid, helped by the screen’s 120Hz refresh rate, with seven years of OS upgrades and support to look forward to.
The dual camera system now delivers a more natural shooting experience with balanced colours, punchy detail and reliable results in most lighting – including low-light. Battery life has caught up too, finally lasting a full day, and 25W charging gets you a healthy top-up in under an hour.
What I’m trying to say is that the Z Flip 7 isn’t just a great foldable, it’s a fantastic smartphone, full stop. And at its newly discounted price, it’s more tempting than ever.
