TL;DR: The Duex Float portable stacked second monitor for laptops is now $179.99 (MSRP $399.99).

Laptop screens haven’t gotten much bigger, but the amount of work you do on them certainly has. When you’re flipping between email, documents, chats, browsers, and calls all day, a second screen is the difference between calm and chaos.

Rather than other options we’ve seen that prop up next to your device or attach on the side, the Duex Float uses a kickstand or magnetic attachment to stack above your laptop or tablet. This keeps your desk space clear and your eyes in their natural line of sight when you’re writing, coding, editing, or managing multiple apps at once.

Duex Float supports three modes: standard dual-screen extension or mirroring, a 180-degree presentation mode for sharing content across a table, and a standalone desktop mode using its built-in kickstand. Setup is simple, with USB-C or mini-HDMI connectivity, and optional magnetic attachment for laptops of any size.

Compatibility is broad, covering macOS, Windows, Linux, Nintendo Switch, Samsung DeX phones, and M-series iPads via Stage Manager. At four pounds and under an inch thick, it’s built for hybrid workers or frequent travelers.
