If you only need a computer that can handle the basics, buying off the shelf may mean you’re overpaying. A low-cost alternative is a high-quality refurbished computer like this 2017 MacBook Air. Instead of paying $999, it’s only $199.97.

This 13.3-inch MacBook Air is a solid everyday laptop for students, remote workers, or anyone who needs a machine for writing, web browsing, video calls, or light multitasking. It runs on a 1.8GHz Intel Core i5 processor and includes 8GB of RAM, which is enough to keep multiple tabs and apps running smoothly. The 128GB SSD helps with quick startups and provides enough storage for documents, photos, and a few larger files.

Battery life lasts up to 12 hours, which means you can get through a full day without searching for an outlet. Weighing just under 3 pounds, it’s light enough to carry without a second thought. This model also supports macOS Monterey, so you’ll still have access to current apps and features.

It’s sold as a refurbished Grade A/B unit, which means it may have minor cosmetic wear but is fully functional. A MagSafe charger is included, and it comes with a 90-day parts and labor warranty from a third-party provider.

Pick up a refurbished 2017 MacBook Air on sale for $199.97 (MSRP $999). Sale ends September 7 at 11:59 p.m. PT.
