Google’s introduction of the Chromebook platform in 2011 sent shockwaves through the laptop market, as its Chrome OS beat Windows in power efficiency, virus protection, and more. It quickly became a popular choice for schools, but there are many other reasons to consider one, especially during Best Buy’s massive Chromebook sale. They have a ton of models discounted, but I picked out three that we’ve reviewed and have massive discounts up to 60% off.
Acer Chromebook 315
15.6″ FHD display, Intel Celeron N4500 CPU, 4GB RAM. 64GB eMMC storage
$119.00

$299.00
Save $180.00
Let’s lead off with a great example of how low Chromebooks can go. At $299, the Acer Chromebook 315 is a perfectly decent portable, with a big screen, smooth and responsive touchpad, and decent selection of ports. In our review, we gave it a “Good” rating, noting that it’s not particularly a powerhouse but it gets the job done for everyday productivity tasks. But chop that price down to $119 and things look very different. It’s a miracle to get a full laptop and a carrying case for that price, and for students and casual users this is a can’t-miss pick.

Asus CX14 Chromebook Plus
14″ FHD display, Intel Core 3 N355 CPU, 8GB RAM. 128GB eMMC storage
$249.00
at Best Buy
$429.00
Save $180.00
For something a little more potent, Google introduced the Chromebook Plus platform a couple years back. Still targeted to run on inexpensive processors and other components, laptops labeled Plus guarantee a baseline level of performance, speed and usability, with many of them seriously competitive compared to much more expensive Windows machines. The Asus CX14 is a more budget-focused Plus, but in our review we had great things to say about its good battery life, solid port selection, and attractive pricing. Grabbing one for $250 is a treat.

Lenovo Chromebook Duet 11
11″ 2K display, MediaTek Kompanio 838 CPU, 4GB RAM. 128GB eMMC storage
$249.00
at Best Buy
$399.00
Save $150.00
Lenovo makes some of our favorite laptops at a wide variety of price points, and this two-in-one Chromebook is a great bargain for the price. In our review, we gave it an “Excellent” rating for its high-quality detachable tablet screen, with clear 2K resolution and good responsiveness, as well as its sturdy metal chassis and capable performance. Because it’s a convertible, battery life is reduced a bit, but it still tested at six hours of run time in between charges. This bundle also comes with a folio cover to keep it free of scratches.
